I agree Mick. We both know from the time he's lived with us that he's a wonderful, loving, gentle boy. Someone is out there and will fall in love with him, as we have!

Daisy and Ollie running. Daisy likes to be chased and the great thing is I know she'll always come back to me. So however far she takes a dog I know she'll bring them back. She's the boss of the pack, but in a quiet way so the foster dogs get to learn their place through her, and they get their fun play with my silly Alice. I put the bell on Ollie's collar so I can hear him and know that he's following and as you can see he's learned from Daisy about coming back. There's quite a lot of noisy play with Ollie - although most of it is Daisy! - but if you look carefully you can see he's not got that strong prey drive to bring Daisy down, it's just grrrrring, chasing and bouncing because he's loving being able to run free.

That is wonderful to see, Christine. Daisy is such a star (so much easier when you can delegate the training to your dog) and I think that Ollie is going to be a great addition to someone's family.

Ollie, in his favourite place! He's a dog that will fit in easily with any pack and, as you can see, he's happy to be Daisy's pillow. He has such a sweet, gentle, happy character, it's hard to understand why nobody wants him. He can stay here for as long as it takes, but he really needs a forever home somewhere

OllieBlog!Colour codingI've been enjoying my walks lately as The Human has been letting me off the lead so I can run and chase. Sometimes I get a bit carried away and run off, especially when I see birds and geese, but let's face it any self-respecting Lurcher is going to say "geese in field = chase". Sometimes when I've been chasing the geese I look round and can't see TH. I don't like that, it scares me. I like to chase but I need to know TH is close by and I can see her. So far I've always been able to find her... although I'm not sure why she's standing behind trees and bushes. She must be hiding for some reason. I think this bell she puts on my collar is supposed to help her know where I am so I don't think I'll get lost. Even so it's a bit worrying when we're in the back of the mobile kennel and she opens the flap at the back because Her Naughtiness wants to jump out and run off. I get a bit worried that we might all get lost if we all jump out. Fortunately TH has worked this out and has a clever technique for making sure she has control of all of us so we can't jump out and run off. We all have different colour slip leads and she puts her hand under the flap and grabs each of the leads. She calls it colour coding: Daisy is purple, Comet is blue, Her Naughtiness is red, and I'm green. As long as she has each colour in her hand she knows we're all under control. I like being green... TH says it goes well with the the brown mud I get spattered with when I'm running and chasing with Daisy! I've asked TH if I can come and run with Zephyr, Lily and Ella and she says maybe soon. Here's me with my green lead. You can't see my collar in this shot but it's a really cool black with coloured spots that goes well with my lead... someone called Romi made it. [Note to self: keep practicing the cheeky look, it's working well and TH says it will eventually pay off!]

OllieBlog!I say YAYYYYY!!!I've been practicing my singing for the Carpool Karaoke journey to the field where The Human takes us for our walk. TH keeps telling me I'm a good boy. Her Naughtiness says that means I'm a "goody two shoes" but I don't care, I like being a good boy.

OllieBlog!Nnomm nnomm nnommApparently I eat really slowly and carefully... although not as slowly as Comet, nobody is as slow as him... he crunches every single piece of kibble before swallowing!!! Although it's really irritating having to wait for him to finish before we can go outside, it's good that we know not to bother each other when we finish eating at different rates. I learned that from Daisy, Alice and Comet. When I first came here I was anxious about eating close to the other dogs and wouldn't actually eat - hard to imagine now! So The Human put me outside the kitchen to eat on my own. It doesn't bother me any more and we're all very careful about respecting each other's eating space, but I still get fed in the hallway. It's probably a good thing that I still eat in the hall as it can get a bit crowded with us all in the kitchen, and I like my routines. I really like the Burns Chicken and Rice we eat here and I love getting treats when we're out on our walks. I used to be really hand-shy and wouldn't take treats when The Human held them out in her hand... not even cheese! Now I'll even take treats from strangers which used to be unheard of. There was a nice human at the park this morning - he's my friend Stripes' dad - he had some ham... mmmm. That was really nice. TH says she thinks I was hand-shy because I was mistreated when I was a puppy... I think she's right but I don't like to think about that time. Now I'm first in line for a treat. We all have to be very polite and take the treat one at a time. When we're at home I like to take my treat into the crate, especially if it's something that needs chewing. It's nice and dark and cosy in there. One of the things I really like about it here is that we get to choose where we want to sleep. I've got my favourites but there are so many beds there's always somewhere available that I like. [Note to self: I think TH could do with some advice on the best type of beds... maybe I'll do a dog bed review after I've told everyone about my special tail wagging technique!]
