Well Grace has been with us 6 months this weekend. Can't quite believe it!
She likes a quiet life with a good routine, lots of cuddles and company :-) I find that, while she loves to stretch her legs, she's just as happy to go out for a walk on the lead. Anything as long as she doesn't get left behind:-)
She still prefers to meet people and dogs on her own terms - but then which of us doesn't?
She's such an affectionate treasure, I'd love to see her well and truly settled in her forever home...

The weather has been so lovely recently we've been to the beach a couple of times and we're off to Old Hunstanton to meet up with some doggy pals this morning too :-) This was snapped on Snettisham beach this week - Gracie happily trotting along beside me without her lead :-)

Hope Grace finds a lovely home soon. She looks very well behaved on the beach. Is she good on the lead too? X

Sometimes they are much better off lead than on as they feel they can escape any conflicts ahead. We find this with Honey x She is beautiful. She has just blossomed. x

We actually now (after assessment) let Alfie off lead when we can see a potential 'hazard' ahead, such as a group of 2+ labs or even Husky types. Whereas before we would put him on lead to try and 'protect' him from getting into trouble. Our change of approach is mainly due to lack of respect by the other owners to the fact we put him on lead, but also for the reason he can have a choice over his behavior...so far so good. And I don't understand why the lovely Grace is still waiting?!?!

Grace was very strong on the lead when she first arrived and walking was not pleasant for anyone. I resorted to a halti and was very strict with it, then after a few weeks I realised that she wasn't really pulling so much, relaxed and gave her a bit more space and she's mostly been good since. I still carry the halti in my pocket in case of bad behaviour, but most of the time we don't need it now.
Walking round the block, a few corrective tugs are all it needs to get her to easily trot along beside me. In the woods she's a bit more keen - she satellites around me, lunges every now and again without warning - but is much more settled if she's had a chance of a zoomie. BUT put any kind of excitement in front of her - cat, squirrel, muntjac - and she GOES. At 28kg she can take a bit of holding on to at times. She is easier to manage on the halti though. It's a work in progress :-)
I try to give her as much off lead time as I can, but that can be tricky too. Her recall is getting better, but if she's in the zone she suddenly goes deaf! Once she's had a good run she's mostly happy to walk along with me these days, but I still don't totally trust her when it comes to unkown dogs, especially if they're small. She is muzzled most of the time unless I can see that there's no one about and she's on the lead.
This all probably makes it sound worse than it is! She has relaxed a lot since she arrived, especially with people when we're out and about. She got a fuss from a new lurcher lady we met today, and gave a nudge when the fussing stopped!

Sounds like you are doing a great job with Grace. Wouldn't it be great if we all had a field of our own to let them zoom in peace!!!. I'm sure somebody will spot her soon x
