Well its bad news - Bob won't be at the St Francis Show tomorrow doing his bit for SLR. But its good news because he has gone to live with Marcia (Waffley), John, Holly and Jemima. Bob behaved so nicely at the meeting, leaving Jemima to do her mad zoomies without getting too excited, giving John excellent cuddles and walking beautifully on the lead for Marcia, he has wormed his way into a lovely new home where I think he will be treated like a prince. With Princess Jemima Getting a treat from new mum Good luck Bob - you are a very special boy and everyone around will miss you but be so pleased that you have found a lovely new family.

Well done Philippa. I think Marcia had a twinkle in her eye when he came in, but Blue so needed her. Hopefully he will be just what Jemima needs. And in lots of way, he seems to have the same character that Blue had. Fingers crossed they strike up a good friendship. xx

This is such wonderful news... I can't think of a better outcome. It's a perfect match. Like you Phillipa, and everyone who met him, I knew that if he could just get to meet a potential new family, he would win their hearts. It's great for Bob and I'm so pleased for Marcia and John. We'll get to see the lovely Bob on the Forum.... yayyyyyy!!!!

Thank you all for your lovely comments about us. Jenny is quite right though, I did spot Bob as soon as he came in! I must thank Philippa for going to the trouble of meeting us halfway at her parents house, and of course a big thank you to Alan and Jean for their wonderful hospitality! Jemima hasn't managed to get Bob to play yet, but we've only been home for 4 hours! Holly somehow conveyed to Bob that she was top dog, just by a sniff. Amazing!! And both John and I are sure that Blue would have approved, because Jenny is right, Bob is similar to Blue in a lot of ways? And as I type, Bob has climbed up on the settee and is cuddled up to me! Thank you all for getting me through the loss of Blue, and to SLR as a whole for allowing me to find Bob, even though John can't stop saying Bob a la Rowan Atkinson in Blackadder!

I am so happy to read this Marcia, blurry screen here. Just the best news for Bob and I know Blue would approve. I hope Bob can help the healing process for you all and look forward to lots of pics of him settling in to his new home. xxx

A good evening and night had by all! Bob was a little stressed and unsettled initially, but steak and vanilla ice cream (not together, although I'm sure the dogs would have no objection!!), seemed to help the settling in process! Bob came up to the bedroom, but initially wouldn't settle in his designated bed next to Jemima and Holly. So I moved his bed to the side I mostly sleep, and apparently that was perfect, and he settled straight away. We were all reluctantly woken at 6:30am by a whining Saluki, but Bob wasn't that keen to get up and went back to bed. He reluctantly came down eventually when he realised breakfast was on offer! John took Bob and Jemima out on his own this morning as my sciatica etc is playing up, and they were both very good. Jemima introduced Bob to her friends (the people and dogs John meets at "too early 'o' clock for me!!), and both dogs and people approved of Bob! We were all going to go out later, but the forecast looks like we won't be able to do that without getting soaked, so we will see. Anyway, at the moment all is going well. Jemima desperately wants to wash Bob's eyes and ears, but he isn't quite ready yet. They did have a little play in the garden last night so Jemima is definitely wearing Bob down. Thank you all for your kind words and of course especially Philippa who took such good care of Bob x

Just picked this up - have been laid up with a rotten virus. I am so pleased for you Marcia. Bob sounds the perfect dog to complete your pack again. I am sure he and Jemima will soon be doing zoomies together. Well done Philippa another successful homing. Look forward to updates on their adventures.

I'm going to follow Bob's progress with great pleasure. I've seen him playing with other dogs so I know it's just a matter of time before he feels comfortable playing with Jemima. It must be hard for him to understand all the changes that have happened to him but it sounds like he's getting settled with you and John so he'll soon be responding to Jemima... and good luck with all the zooming they'll be doing!

I think our grass is dreading it! Jemima doing zoomies is enough! He's still sparko, but yesterday was quite a day for him, but he seems very relaxed indeed! Only wish the weather was better, but it is Bank Holiday weekend so what can we expect! Anyway I only managed a couple of not great photos yesterday, but I thought you'd all like to see Bobster settling in! Relaxing on the rug but watching what's going on in the garden! Having a little play with a soft toy while Dad is throwing a ball for Jemima And in the interest of no favoritism, here is Jemima with Dad!

Great news for Bob, and to stay in the SLR family is brilliant too. I love Blackadder - that made me chuckle Marcia! I'm sure Blue will be looking down with approval.
