Update on lovely Bailey. Bailey has now been with the Rescue for 2 months. Fostered in Dorset, he is turning out to be a beautiful boy, and good off lead. He can sometimes pull on the lead when he first goes for a walk but now wears a halti, which he is happy to wear, and settles better on walking. He likes all dogs, people and children. An all round lovely bouncy boy. Now nearly a year old, he looks to be fully grown. A real pointy who likes the sofa and to snuggle up to his foster's bitch. He is neutered, fully vaccinated and ready for that forever home. We are looking for a home with another hound so that he can have some fun. And as always with these young dogs, we do not rehome to anyone who works out of the house for more than 4 hours in any one day, and with a youngster preferably someone home based. The photo below is taken a week ago. His thread starts below that, unfolding how he has settled and been assessed. His thread goes into 3 pages. If you are interested in Bailey please get in touch. We carry out thorough homechecks and even Vet and neighbour checks. Bailey last week. .............................................................................................................................. Bailey is the circumstances of a relationship breakup. He wants to play with everyone and is gentle with all animals. More details to follow from his foster mum when he arrives in.

Lovely to hear he has settled. That was one heck of a rescue journey. Well done. Hopefully Bailey won't be so amourous after his op! I am sure Saffy will put him in his place.

He's been very good, out for a wee at 2am and then up at 7am. Saffy eventually succumbed to full bitey-face play at 10.30am. Ate his breakfast ok and no problem taking his bowl away for a minute or two. Happy to be brushed and touched anywhere, no complaints at all from him. He's tried to hump my leg twice so far but backs off quickly when I say no! We've just been to a nice quiet park for a couple of hours so he could run and play on a long lead with Saffy. We saw a couple of other dogs and he was eager to meet them and full of fun, even had a little run back and forth with a teenage lad. A cat appeared on the edge of the field so Saffy ran after it and he was keen to chase as well but restrained by the lead. Too early to tell yet if his reaction was just keen and friendly as with meeting the other dogs or if there was any prey drive. After initial play, they went for a nice walk and he was well behaved without pulling. He responds well to the majority of commands and even if not yet too familiar with some words, he is understanding the intention. No negative reaction to the hoover or lawnmower, only watches with interest. Have started associating a whistle with treats in the hope that it will help with recall, although of course his hearing is selective. He travels very well in the car and Saffy has now graciously acquiesced to riding in the back with him. They are both now lying quietly beside me, but will no doubt be out charging round the garden again as soon as I move. Unfortunately we are photographically challenged, so no pictures as yet, but will try to get some on here as soon as poss.

Great start Sheila. They both seem to have the same waking up times. Looking forward to his photos. When you walk with Casparsdad I am sure he will get some for us. xx

A good night was had by all with last visit to the garden at 11.15, and first visit at 5.30 this morning then peaceful snoozes until 9.00.
Saffy usually comes and gets into bed with us early every morning, and today Bailey put his front paws up on the duvet, pushed his nose into it, and laid his head and shoulders over to one side giving a big sigh! It was very cute.
I don't think he's been allowed on beds but was familiar with armchairs and sofas (although Saffy's not allowed him on her sofa yet). He is fit and has obviously been well cared for. Wasn't familiar with stairs, but that didn't take long!
We're meeting up with Keith and Molly this afternoon for a walk, so hopefully Keith will have some pictures of him to put on later.
We've just started juggling with camera, laptop, photobucket, clouds, apps . . . . . you get the picture, or not in this case!
PS: He had his first last night and then fell asleep!

What a handsome boy, and taller than I expected. He's going to be stunning when he finishes growing.
At first Charlie was a bit growly with him, probably just testicle envy!
Saffie enjoyed playing with our gang, and Bailey wished he could go too. I'm sure it will be soon.
A study in brown! Lorna on the left, Bailey, Saffie.

Sheila sent these photos through. Zoomies in the garden with Saffie, mooching, training in the park, first roach!
