Her life's on an upward curve now, though she's probably a tad confused as to where all this love & caring has suddenly appeared from. Well done Kara & Co. for offering her a safe haven.

It breaks your heart to know what's she's been through but also you feel tearful with happiness as to all the kindness and care she's received already. I like helping with transport but I worry so much that you can't tell the dogs why they're in and out of different cars with new people.
The last run to the foster home is a relief when you know they will get so much care, peace and love. In this case she's never known this.

If I ever needed reminding what hound rescue is all about - no, more than that, what LIFE is all about - then all I need do is recall picking Maisie up this morning from Kara and having a part in getting her to a place of love and safety. This little one is SUCH a sweet girl Despite the horrendous neglect which is screamingly obvious she stepped towards me wagging her tail. I don't know how dog wardens do their job - if I had any contact with the b****rd responsible for treating this gentle soul so appallingly I just wouldn't be able to hold myself back. Thank you so much Jenny for creating and maintaining such a fab rescue, Kara for taking such good care of Maisie overnight and Brenda and Steve for offering this little hound a safe place to start her new life. SLR truly is amazing. It's okay sweet girl, your life has changed now and can only get better. A few pics which show what a gentle soul she is but simply don't even begin to show just how underweight and damaged this little one is ... With Kara Her ears are ulcerated and her eyes have sunk so deep the lashes have caused wounds on the skin around her eye sockets With Heather at the handover She has such a gentle and dignified face.

Well done Kara and everyone on the transport run. I am sure hounds know when you show kindness that you are helping them. She will be a stunner when back to full health.

I am just home after handing her over to Brenda and Steve. poor Heather had a terrible traffic journey up to us. Delays meant that I had to go shopping in my favourite shop for doggie goodies. I can only re-iterate what Audrey has said, that this is an appauling situation which the dog wardens can only make a dent in. She was so stoic, resigned to anything that was happening. Eating grass at every stopover. Little and often and love and tlc will see her right in a few weeks. I thought I had some ear drops for that ear infection. But couldn't find them before leaving home. But she will want for nothing and the eyes will get sorted.
Like Miss Elly, who was my reason to begin SLR, she WILL be cherished from now on.
