This lil Chap caught a baby squirrel, show boated around the park with it, onlookers were screaming as the bushy tail hung out of his mouth. Eventually he put it down and it scampered away. A little advise please.. Do you think a soft muzzle would be advisable in parks or do you think hounds will just be hounds?

I shouldn't laugh Cheeky boy, lurchers will be lurchers! But to save any public outcry I tend to pop a muzzle on our boys. They aren't fussed by it at all and it gives me peace of mind too that they can potter about without causing too much havoc! I will never forget the look on my friends face when Kevin presented her with a rabbit years ago. She is of a sensitive nature and I really thought she was going to burst into tears and never speak to me again.

He's a hound, and just as effective even on three legs! I wouldn't after just one incident - and he obviously didn't go in for he kill, although that could change now he has caught something successfully. If you do decide to muzzle, a cage one is better than a soft one as it allows then to breathe normally and drink.

Lenny you are now a true Lurcher!!! Rowlf managed to catch one when he had the cone of shame on! Maybe it's not a good idea to parade it round the park Lenny. However on more than one occasion we have seen hounds running along the cliff with bunnies in their chops!!!
