Thanks peeps. He is adorable, happy chappy and good with other dogs. Dont know what they were saying when they described him as strong on the lead,he is a pleasure to walk and good recall, sadly can't let him off lead due to his leg, he is also very fit due to his coursing life but the muscle wasteage on his left hind shows he has been worked whilst lame, poor boy. The vets have said they will give us a discount on bill . I'm not sure if ,when picked up by dog warden and taken to pound ( RSPCA I think) over 2 weeks ago they did not get him any vet treatment, so poor boy had to live with his injury and thats not fair to then ask us to take him and foot the bill. So will keep you posted about outcome of x rays and plums off!!! Thanks for support. X

Leon and Girshwin back from vets As suspected Lion has a full cruciate rupture, but no bone chips, lots of fluid around the knee area so looks as if he has had this for some time. He will definitely need an operation and we have two options- the same op that megan had which is a lateral suture or a TTP which involves permanent fixings in the joint, the latter is the more expensive. Jenny is going to talk to her vet and get Leons x rays sent to him as he is considerably less expensive than my vet. His other procedure went well, just doing the John Wayne walk!! Girshwin still sleeping off his reversible anaesthetic?? But his x ray is looking good and can now increase his walks. Bless them both.

Having spoken to the Trustees, we are going to go with Claire's vet on a lateral repair. Hopefully this will do it for the lad. That is around £1200 with Claire's vet.
We are very niffed that a holding kennels, purported to be an RSPCA one!! left him like this for 10 days and didn't let us know apart from a casual remark from the kennel maid.! Thank dog he came into SLR and NOT the RSPCA..

Poor boy, I thought the RSPCA were there to help stop animal suffering, not just stand by and watch it happen under their very noses . Hugs to Leon and to you earlybird
