OK hands up yes I confess it's us Like everyone we've followed the progress of the pups since day one and little Phoebe having our name from the sweepstake was always going to be special to us. We've had a very tough time knowing we would lose our dear Jack and he like Suki had such a presence. We love our greyhound girls to bits and would not be without them but when we lost Jack there was an energy missing from the house. When we saw that Phoebe had already been reserved we thought well that's that, it's not meant to be, til last week when my dear sister noticed she was available again and started hounding me to reconsider her. I'll be honest, the decision to adopt hasn't been an easy one and has been given A LOT of consideration. The emotional roller coaster we've been on has been exhausting. It was the post on Eric and Claude's thread by Dearhound and timely advise from friends that got us thinking so the ball started rolling again with thoughts of 'should we shouldn't we' and here we are now. Part of me is still thinking but we're also super excited to be the lucky ones offering Lucky Number 7 her forever home, despite the somewhat fragrant introduction . Phoebe showed bags of character when she came to visit but was very respectful of our ageing girls. Bless her she was all legs scampering around the garden and toppled over trying to play bow and beg at Rosie . Didn't take her long to master our few garden steps and was soon launching herself down them like Superman! Soon followed by snuggling down in the biggest bed for a snooze We've stocked up on a few mopping up provisions (feeling like new expectant parents!) and a new super soft bed with warm up cushion to help her snuggle down without her bro for bedtime comfort, pads, toys, treats, wipes, bowls, soft fleece blanket, a deodorising puppy coat spray and a choice of crate size and a pen, not to mention the mountain of soft toys we already have that went through the wash and adorned the washing line today in a colourful display.
Any offers of advice are more than welcome....pleeeeeease! It's been a long time since I had a puppy from weeks old. The puppy fact sheet will be invaluable and I was very pleased to see it in the email Jenny, thank you. We're touched and made up that you're all so pleased she is coming to join us and will do our very best to give her the loving home she deserves. It was written in the stars, you're coming home, see you tomorrow Phoebe

We're looking forward to play dates when the time's right. My camera is going to be busy

Phoebe is the sweetest funniest puppy, she can now go up and down the stairs, use my westies as spring boards into the big dogs water bowl and do the perfect figure of eight around my furniture. I love her to bits, she really has made a pawprint on my heart! ps... Sally, that is an impressive mountain of puppy stuff! New parents totally. Xxx

I had a lovely time in Pets at Home today. Never shopped in the puppy section before. Mind you, when I asked for a water bowl that I could attach to a dog crate I was sent to the parrot section.....
