Skye is being fostered by her Rescuer in Southampton. She is a socialized outgoing 11 week old pup. Vaccinated and ready for her new home. Skye is crate trained and gradually going out for lead walks to get her accustomed to the outside world. Pups do have spikey teeth, needle sharp, and they teeth, chew and have to be toilet trained. Pups are hard work, but rewarding to know that they have grown with you. If you are interested in little Skye, please do get in touch. - jenny@southernlurcherrescue.org.uk Just a few photos of this lovely girlie. Video to follow shortly. i like to swoon over puppies but prefer the more mature dog myself, like you say Jenny, pups are hard work...and they need you to get it right

I can never view the videos, for some reason. How big is Skye likely to turn out to be? Is she going to be a biggish lurcher, or a little teeny one?

Gosh, how long is a piece of string? She won't be 26" to the shoulder, that much I can say. Probably around 23/24".

Sorry, I realised it was a bit of a daft question but I just wanted to check whether she's likely to be tiny, or more the size of our other two...

Sky looks a lot like Maria's Marley must have done at that age. She is one gorgeous little pup.

From past info it seems her mum was saluki x and her dad was greyhound x. So up to 26" to the shoulder.

Hi Cilla here - Skye's fosterer, thought I'd give an update on this mischevious, gorgeous girl.Skye loves living in a house with 6 other woofers of differing lineage, plenty of playmates and uncle Dudley - a big hairy lurcher - to give support when needed. She is a lively, inquisitive pup with quite a bit of speed when running up and down the garden ( made a mistake and turned to early this morning ending up in the pond) -she can swim! She is still not impressed with the idea of being in a crate -definately makes plenty of noisy protest but does eventually quieten. She is now starting to go out on the lead, doesn't mind the traffic noise, not sure of meeting big dogs on leads but enjoys being petted by people. My grand children invaded the other weekend and she was really good with them; they are aged between 6 - 11 years and proper windup merchants. She can't workout the cats, would like to get to know them but hasn't the courage to go near them, she hasn't - as yet - taken any notice of the rabbits or guinea pigs. Next thing to organise is training classes, where she will meet a good mixture of other dogs with there owners.

Hi Cilla. Great update on Skye. She is obviously in good hands with you and having plenty of socialisation and learning to be a family member. Thanks for taking her in. Look forward to following her progress xx

Well here we are again! Skye is now walking out on the lead and meeting other dogs - not confidently - she sits by my foot until the other dog acknowledges her, then with a wag of her tail she says hello, great! She most definately doesn't like getting wet - if it's raining she dives under the patio seat to relieve herself - her first visit with the fish in the pond was the result of her friend Lottie giving her a push, but that time she was in the shallow end and could walk out, second time was a result of her own enthusiasm - mad run and a right turn 6 feet to early - which meant lots of splashing before reaching the shallow bit. The fish? Well they often get visitors of the 4 legged kind and just go down to the bottom. I noticed frogs pairing-up last night, so it won't be long and frogspawn will appear, I'm glad it isn't there yet, frogspawned Skye aye! Last night Skye had her first run with the big dogs out on the forest- wow can she run - I was very pleased because she came back to me when called from quite a distance away. This little lass is going to be a fantastic dog in the right hands.

It is lovely to read about little Skye' s adventures. I bet she will have a few more now she can go out for walks.
