Jenny, she is 10 times worse than Paddy. She just cannot understand:-
1. Why do the others eat so slow 2. It's there in front of me, so,I just have to have it

Ella is the same , she has to come and sit by one if us and wait until the others have finished (or stopped) then she is allowed to clean the bowls. Rocky is the real pain as he eats a bit , goes for a wander , comes back , eats a bit more , goes for another wander then hopefully returns to finish before going outside door a post-meal wander. All very aggravating to Ella !!!

Socks just inhales and the food magically disappears, I don't know how he does it. Fleur is such a sweet thing she's eating for England obviously (and putting on weight by the sound of it....brilliant!) xx

Hopefully when she is up to her proper weight, and she realises that food is in plentiful supply, and that finishing first does NOT give her the right to eat everyone elses she will slow down a bit.

Ringo hereby challenges all-comers to a food-off at the Fun Day.
But seriously, the first dog I've ever had that doesn't seem to think food vanishes unless consumed very quickly, is Joey. Mind you that's limited to experience of Great Danes. We can easily get Ringo to stop eating and step away from his bowl mid-meal and do so regularly.
Great to hear Fleur's gaining weight nicely. Still early days. Fab job Elaine et al.

Yes, when Kobe came in 2008 he was starving, he weighed 16kg and would grab anything in reach (and we don't have a dining table), mealtimes were fun lol. He too would hoover his food up, not really chewing and I would hold my breath, scared he was going to choke.Wind was another downside of that, he couldn't move without trumping. He kept that up for months, even when he got up to his weight of 21 kgs.I think it was about 9 months before he stopped. Then he went the opposite way and now sometimes leaves most of his brakfast until after his second walk. He then might eat all of his dinner after the last walk, or leave it 'till the morning

Charlie has now been with us for five months, with regular food, yet he still gulps down anything he's offered as if it will be his last.
Lorna and Hugo eat their meals up steadily, with Charlie watching and waiting to lick their bowls when they move away!

Fleur has been with us for three weeks now and during the last week she has been a lot more confident and a lot more naughty. Well not that naughty really, but she has been acting more like a puppy. She is really into play now, but she plays very nicely and never gets too excited or over the top. I had a scare on Wednesday. Whilst I was outside with a couple of the other dogs Fleur decided to jump onto the worktop and reach up to the top shelf where Pinky's arthritis tablets were kept. Fleur consumed 27 tablets. I phoned the vet and took her straight there. I left her at the vets for an hour whilst they made her sick and they gave me some Charcoal powder to add to her food over the next day. She had a sleep when we got home but she has been her normal self. I caught her on the worktop again this morning, but needless to say she found nothing this time. Fleur is extremely athletic and loves to run and prance about, but she is a very good girl, and I guess she is just doing what young lurchers do, but happens to be very good at doing it! She is being neutered on Thursday next week. A few photos, I will try and get some outside ones over the weekend.

Thank doG you was home when Fleur consumed the tablets, scary moment. She is a very pretty girl ♡♡♡ I have no problems with meal times, they all eat together, wait until each other finish then check each others bowls for missed bits... If one has been off food the bowl comes up straight away. No messing. Difficult if you have an underweight dog i suppose.

Fleur continues to blossom and is having a wonderful time with my four. I think it would be perfect if she could be rehomed with another dog that would enjoy playing with her. She really is a very laid back, easy going young dog. I have caught her on the worktops a few more times but I am hoping that once she realises the worktops are bare she will give up looking. She really is a very good girl and loves to snuggle up in the evening with me to watch tv. Off to the vets tomorrow for spay and then a few days rest. Few more photos.

Make the most of her company, because I can't see her being with you for too much longer!
