It's so lovely to see him so contented lying snuggled up to you. At last he's found the love and comfort he needs and deserves. Well done Janine. I hope the vet can help ease those joints for him... maybe he'll find it easier to walk when he's not carrying those giant plums around

Any chance of getting hydrotherapy for those back legs? It really put muscle back on our Eddie post cruciate op.

I would imagine he's gone through those injuries without proper veterinary care; the way I suspect he got them, too many questions would be asked.
So, so sad.

Sounds as though Brucie-boy's had a hard life, poor love. Amazing he's so well adjusted. We also wondered whether hydro-therapy might help.

There was a story similar to bruces a female ambull X greyhound bitch with badger baiting scars all over her face legs etc ......with an old injury to her front leg more than likely previously untreated break .....Unfortunately she had to have the leg amputated :-Xher adopter said she is the sweetest dog she has had ......and that people have a real fear of bull lurchers also this girl had a sloping backend .....i knew of a man that bred ambull X greys for working many years ago and this was one of the traits of the cross ......My gentlest loving lurcher happens to be a staffy X greyhound .......he was bought over from ireland ...where the bull lurcher are very popular due to the badger baiting . Anyway as others have said Janine with you and your wonderful family caring for Bruce he will flourish

If the back legs or the other front leg also can be x-rayed at the same time just get it done. We need to make sure the rest of his life is pain free. I suspect that there is not a lot we can do for the break at the wrist that has healed, and if amputation does guarantee relief of pain it may be better to do that, but we also need to know if the other leg can take the strain if it is to be the only front leg. This boy is showing such a lovely nature I still feel he could have been stolen at some time. As he is around six years old its a task, but we need to wade back through doglost just in case.

I know Audrey he breaks my heart aswell yes so gentle and good he's exhausted and is enjoying sleeping in peace and heavily, I will get John to do the 4 legs he did think something has prob gone on in his other front leg at some point I'm hoping his back end will get better now he's getting some decent food in him and regulated walks he will build that muscle back up he can manage the sofa now . I will tell him to xray what he thinks, he's such a happy big lump and doesn't complain.
