UPDATE - 20-01-15. This is an update from Philippa who is fostering little Jingle. - Her ideal home would be
1. A doggy playmate, young and energetic, similarly sized – doesn’t have to be a lurcher 2. At least an hour long walk in wide open, safe places to get up a bit of speed preferably everyday. 3. Less important but she would enjoy people coming and going I think – my home is probably a bit quiet on that score 4. Someone prepared to stretch her a bit, training classes etc
1 and 2 are the most important. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jingle was found wandering and has completed her seven days. Philippa offered to take her in and hey presto, that's where she is right now. A lovely little girlie. I will leave Philippa to fill you all in. xxx

I picked this little girl up on 27th from her rescuer. An 'ordinary' looking little lurcher but with a spot on personality. She is a darling - I seem to be very lucky with my fosters. She is affectionate, playful, bright, confident but not dominant. A bit mischievous (she has chewed a few bits of paper and stolen an unguarded pat of butter) but is very willing and wants to be a good girl. She loves other dogs (all of them as far as I can see), people are fine once she has a proper introduction. She pulls a bit on the lead but is not too strong and is eminently trainable. She is looks at the cats we see out and about so I wouldn't say she is cat friendly but a brave cat who didn't run MAY be ok. She was a bit stinky - but when I tried to bath her, I got wetter than she did. Karen of Trim Dogs ( www.trimdogsgrooming.co.uk/), a professional groomer friend bathed her this morning for us free of charge and she smells quite nice now. Karen said she is in 'very hard' condition and thinks she may have been worked but out and about her prey drive doesn't seem really high (Zephyrs is higher). She is very fast and despite being quite a bit smaller (about 22" tts) than Zephyr can give him a good game of zoomie. She has recall -as long as you have a treat for her. A walk on Monday was with 3 labs, 3 spitz, a collie and a shi tzu - she was completely at home with them all. Due for her on op on Monday, Jingle can't wait to find her forever home. Pics soon once photobucket stops its go slow.

Well done Phillipa... sounds like you've got a little treasure there. Zephyr must be happy to have a young playmate again. Good luck for the op on Monday, Jingle!

How old do you think she might be? I want a very young lurcher to train in obedience if possible.

How old do you think she might be? I want a very young lurcher to train in obedience if possible. The vet estimated 18 mths but she seems younger in her demeanour. She is treat (and toy) oriented but she still needs the basics - sit/stay/heel. Having said that I use directionals (left and right) when walking for Zephyr as he does agility and if I say 'left' she immediately goes left. She wants to please and certainly isn't stupid but is still very much at the mercy of her instinct.
