Super update Caroline - great to hear how the lad's progressing. Please give him a cuddle from his Uncle Barney.

Sorry for the radio silence, but we've recently lost a close family member which meant I had to take two week long trips from Cornwall to Essex and poor Ian had enough to do with working and looking after six dogs.
But Sid is still here, still lovely and still looking for his forever family.

Sid is still here, still lovely and still looking for his forever family. Sorry for your loss Caroline, & apologies for mebbe being a tad pushy regarding Sid's situation, but the lad made a positive impression during his short sojourn here, & 'tis good to know that all is well with him.

Sorry to hear about your recent sad loss. It's difficult to keep up with other things when you have the sadness of a bereavement to come to terms with. I hope that things are settling a bit for you and hope you will soon be able to give us an update on the lovely Sid

The good news is that Sid has found his forever home!! The bad news is that after tests, as Sid not only wasn't putting weight on but was actually losing it, we discovered that Sid is vitamin B12 deficient. The vets are still trying to get to the bottom of why, and it may mean that Sid has to have regular injections for the rest of his life. Bizarrely I am also vitamin B12 deficient and I have an injection every three months to top me up! So currently, Sid is being fostered at his new home until we are satisfied that his health situation is stabilised.
He will be sharing his life with two other whippet crosses, a youngster named Whizz and an oldie called Tipsy, plus a mum and dad. They are a lovely family who live near to us and I forsee lots of beach walks in SIds future! Lucky boy :-))

Good news and not so good news. Let's hope his health issues can be sorted even if it does mean regular jabs.

Great news that Sid has found his forever home. Nuisance about the B12 deficiency, but hopefully he can be fixed, even if it means injections.

Many thanks for the,(mostly), good news Caroline. Hope that all works out well for the delightful lad in his forever home, & that the medical issue doesn't prove too much of a problem.

We're all meeting at the vets on Monday to see if the various medications Sid has had in the last few weeks have helped. We'll check his weight and they'll take more bloods and see what, if anything has changed. Jenny has a lovely photo to add to the thread....
