does that mean archie is being rehomed, silly i know, but i so hoped you would keep him as he is happy with you and socks, reguarding his walking on the lead, we were told by a behaviorist that he was fear aggressive, also that we had him neutered too soon, which the vet disagreed with, don't know if that helps at all, if he is rehomed will i still see how he is doing, sorry, just can't seem to let go, worry constantly if i did the right thing by him

Archie went for a visit to his prospective new home yesterday. It went so well when they came here to see him last week but we all wanted it to be absolutely right so arranged for him to meet them and resident dog on their home ground. Well he was totally relaxed with them all and behaved beautifully. He had a good nose around, found the chooks (penned in!) and went on a lovely walk over the fields where he had a good run with their lurcher. He took no notice of a yappy dog behind a fence and came home with muddy paws which were given a wash. While we all drank tea, he had a sit down on prospective Mums lap! This boy still thinks he's a pup when it comes to cuddle time.
He's made good progress with his on lead walks, When he sees another dog, his reaction is not much more than a whine and perhaps a woof but he is distracted by cheese and will walk on well. He no longer finds walks the worrying experience he once did and is much more relaxed about the whole thing. Off lead, he has been very good, has met other dogs both on and offlead and has behaved very well. He invites play but has never been OTT and his recall is good. He came to call this morning after a bunny chase without needing the whistle, good boy.
Archie has been a joy to foster, a funny, loving boy who talks, loves watching the TV and likes visitors. If we were looking for a second dog, he would have been the one. Fingers crossed that he goes off to this lovely forever home.

Archie's such a handsome lad...if I didn't have the numpty here, he'd have made a lovely duo with the spaghetti head. It sounds as though you've done wonders with his on-lead reactivity...sometimes it can just be down to them not knowing what to do and we need to show them. Well done Brenda, Steve and Socks. Love the first pic...the very rare two legged, no faced, tail-less hound! And to FeeBee...please don't worry about Archie. You must know you did the right thing. He'll be well loved and looked after, he WILL be happy in a new home and SLR will always be here for him.

kissWow...it sounds like Archie is coming on so well, maybe growing up a little. So pleased that the meetings are going well too, it can feel like you hold your breath, if it goes well it's a phew moment. Long may it last xx

David and I are very excited and thrilled that Archie is joining our family tomorrow. He is the most gorgeous boy in both looks and nature and stole my heart the first time I saw a picture of him, yet alone the first meet where I received some lovely doggy kisses.
He has been living in doggy Nirvana for the last few weeks and we are determined to keep him in the manner in which he has become accustomed. Brenda and Steve have done a marvellous job with him and we will continue to work on his reactiveness with some other dogs whilst out walking.
Feebee - we are looking forward to taking him on lots of country walks with our other lurcher Clover where he will be able to sniff, explore, chase and play. I often meet up with my friends and their dogs, so when Archie is ready, he will have a goldendoodle and labradoor to run with too. I know he is a cuddly, loving boy and he can have all the snuggles he wants on the settee. Be assured he will always be treated with respect and dignity and I’ll keep you updated with his progress on this thread.
