Arhcie's owner has asked us if we can help rehome him from his own home. They got him as the runt of a litter at 12 weeks old and he has lived with them and their bitch ever since. He has increasingly had lots of energy and has been goading the bitch to playfight. She has finally got fed up and Archie got bitten. The family have tried, but think that he would be better either as an only dog with a bitch that likes to play. Archie is 3.5 years old, neutered, vaccinated and in good health. He is thought to be a saluki/greyhound x but is rough coated. Archie can be lead reactive to dogs that he doesn't know, barking and now and again lunging on the lead. Archie's owner wants to get it right for Archie and forever so is totally honest about his ways and what he needs.

I know MC, these ones are different because with the SLR dogs, fosterers are actively posting information about their charges. Just trying to answer Craftymama's surprise that Archie's still 'here'. Hope the meeting (when arranged) goes well and he can move on to a new home. He'd have made a lovely brother for Greta, but having one 'sometimes reactive' one is enough for me!

hi, im archies mum, and after much soul searching, we have decided that archie needs more than we can give him, we absolutely adore him and it breaks our hearts, but he is an active playful dog and we have nowhere safe to let him run, he is very fast and is 27" to shoulder, we are only rehoming him as we think it will be better for him, he is perfect with children, i had taken both dogs out for a walk and he see another dog, he pulled and took me by surprise and i let archie go, the man chased him and he went straight to some kids until i got there, he was shaking like a leaf, he just wants to play, but he is a big dog, people see him running towards them and and they get worried, which is understandable, he does bark a lot and sounds like a good guard dog, tho if they came through the gate he would run a mile,he sounds aggressive but definately is not, once he knows people he is very friendly and loving, loves his rear end scratched, sits on your lap and 'talks' to you, loves a pigs ear, likes a fuss, would maybe better if with more than 1 other dog, he won first place in a scruffy dog show,

Hi Feebee. Archie is totally gorgeous. Well done for making the difficult decision to rehome him. Putting the hounds needs first is not always easy, but hopefully Archie will soon find his perfect new home.

He is so beautiful! Must be difficult to let him go, but like Romi says, if it's best for the hound....good luck, I hope he finds his forever home soon (I'm tempted!)

Archie has now come in for fostering with Kevin and Leanne in Suffolk. Just a photo through from day one. The little black one is one of their Patterdales.

Hi Kevin and Leanne. We're in Suffolk too, and have just fostered Tilly who has now gone off to her forever home. Would like to meet up sometime? I'm sure Gramps and Paddy would too. Archie looks very comfortable with you, well done for stepping up xx

Archie looks such a sweet fella, i'm sure he'll be putting his paws firmly under someones table soon. I'd really like a scruffy dog one day. not allowed at the mo!
