UPDATED 1st February 2015. PADDY IS NOW APPROX 20 WEEKS OLD. FOR A FIVE MONTH OLD PUP IS IS VERY SMALL SO PROBABLY WHIPPET X COLLIE. He definitely needs to be with other dogs, so we are looking for a home with another dog to run around with, a younger dog for play. He is fine with children, although being a pup with sharp teeth would mouth and catch sleeves in play. He can now be left for 1.5 hours in his crate for shopping. He does bark at first, but is quiet within 5 minutes. But he is left in the same room as our pack and is left with some long lasting chews. He is generally clean indoors, but if you miss him running to the back door to ask to be let out he will have to relieve himself. We do not rehome pups to anyone who works outside the home, so please do not apply if you do. Paddy has a lovely nature, is trusting, loyal and cuddly. He sleeps in the bedroom because all our dogs sleep upstairs, but equally would be okay to sleep downstairs as long as the dogs he lives with do. He does not need to be crated at night. Please remember - Pups are hard work. They chew furniture, shoes and clothing. They like to ruck up rugs and pull cushions off the chairs. They are mischievous, that is part of exploring and growing up. And they need to explore. Firm but fair is the key to bringing up a socialized and happy pup. And lots of TLC. ......................................................................................................................... We have been asked to bring in a Male Collie X pup. 12 weeks old. Has been fostered by a Vet Nurse, so is doing well, and puppy training also going well. Not thought to be cat friendly. And here with his sibling sister who has found a home.

What a cutie! So are you looking for a foster home or a forever home (or both)? How long does it generally take to rehome puppies?

Paddy is in. MC didn't need a puppy to foster at Christmas, but no-one came forward. I think everyone wants to know they don't have two horns growing out of their heads before they offer. Well, Paddy puppy is here. He is very polite. Travelled well, except he did a humungus poo just as I left the car park so had to stop and change his pads. Thank dog Rosie gave me some puppy pads. Very firm poo, so no probs, still have one lovely clean puppy. He was then sick just before we got home, but not distraught at all. He has said hello to our gang. Megan and Mims are doing their usual - Megan barking at him and Mims saying he doesn't exist. But as usual Tag was the bigger Dog and greeted him with a wag. Sofi likes him too. He has good social skills. Meeting Annie Heggie And Sofi And Mr. Tag. He wasn't phased by them all Not sure how cat friendly he is as he barked at poor Minnie who wanted to come and say hello. He sits and lifts his paw when you have a treat. Intelligent. I think this lad will excel in obedience or agility. Gorgeous. He's now in the big dog bed behind me in the office, munching on a rice bone. And Tag? ... he's given in and got into the small one under the desk. He's off to the Vets at 2.15 to have his first jabs.

He is being a poppet. We went off to the Vets this afternoon, Mr. Tag coming along for the ride. Paddy created and poor Vet Annaleise had to open a second batch of vaccine as he wriggled so much the first one came out. He was not amused. You could see the look on his face which said "why" and "what did I do to deserve that". I won't chip him just yet, but let him forget today a bit first. He came home and I tucked him inside my coat and took all the girls out into the woods. He would have loved to have joined them. And my back suffered by the time we got back. He only weighs 5.5 kilos, so needs another 1.5 kilos on him to catch up for his age, but we'll get there. I then took Annie and Tag out and Annie was goading him to play. That really did my back in so we only did half the field. Paddy then came back and tucked into a dinner of scrambled eggs and wainwrights puppy. He loved the eggs. Straight outside and did a wee. Click to view the video. Paddy has made himself at home. He can easily jump up onto the dining chairs, and tonight made himself comfortable on a chair whilst I cooked dinner.
