it sounds like it won't be long before she comes out of her shell. It's understandable that she cried the first night with all the upheaval she's had. Hopefully she'll gradually settle at night when she learns the routine. Looking forward to meeting her tomorrow for our walk

We have just got back from 2 hours over at the common. She has had lots of sniffs, met lots of dogs (including SLR Millie, SLR Poppy and SLR Sophie) and has behaved well. She told a couple of dogs off (including SLR Poppy) for being too in her face, but there was no aggression behind it. She saw a young miniature poodle and she didn't show any signs of thinking it was a rabbit (although I did put on the lead).
She was off lead a lot of the time and stayed close and came when she was called. She is fast asleep now.
This girl is going to be lovely and easy to introduce into her forever home.
I'll try and get some out and about pics tomorrow.

Great to hear that Pepsi is settling so well after all the upheavals of the past week Seems to me that you and Zephyr are the ideal foster for her Philippa Good timing that your neighbour is away at the moment - gives some leeway on the unsettled overnights

What a good girl. She didn't make a sound last night so it must just have been first night nerves.
Pepsi is a very easy dog to have around. Affectionate but not too clingy, eats well (she especially liked the off cuts from the casserole beef yesterday - and a bit of the gravy on her kibble), waits until she is out to do her business and seems happy to do whatever is on the agenda.
We are meeting redsnapper and her three today so hopefully another enjoyable experience for her.

We met Pepsi today at Tadley Common, and she is every bit as pretty as she looks in the photos. She's a very placid little girl with a lovely soft hairy coat. She wasn't phased by all the dogs running around and wagged her tail at everyone she met.... and she does like the boys!!! Here's a photo of her with lots of the dogs that Phillipa regularly meets on her walks - most of them today were Lurchers, as you can see, apart from Zac with his ball. ... and here's Pepsi looking very pretty, watching what's going on... love those hairy eyebrows

Great pics Christine. Can't wait to see how Pepsi looks once her hair grows back.

Yep. Once again, the lurchers took over the common. Pepsi was very good and just stood quietly - I think she was enjoying it.
This afternoon she displayed slightly odd behaviour, barking, yelping and squeaking (wagging her tail at the same time). I took her out for a wee and tried to figure out if she wanted anything but in the end concluded she was just after attention and feeling a bit more at home.

Pepsi has seen a lot of confusing changes in the last few weeks so is still easily bewildered. She has just come back from getting her vaccs and was a very good girl but did hide under the chair. She does like to find a small space when she feels insecure. The vet was happy with her heart, teeth etc though she is having a phantom pregnancy, although it doesn't seem to be bothering her.
She was a huge hit with the whole waiting room at the vets. She seems very fit for 10 and happily walks along side me for an hour or two on our walks. She enjoys food, is interested in sniffs, other dogs etc and I think will come out of her shell properly once she is a stable situation for enough time. She will make a lovely companion for a single person or couple who wants an older, fit dog that isn't too full of beans.

maybe that's why she looks a bit "rounded". I can see why they liked her at the vets, she is such a gentle laid-back little girl and those eyes and eyebrows would melt any heart.

Pepsi has definitely started to come out of her shell today. She has asked for a couple of cuddles - she is a really lovely character. She doesn't like the rain much but quite enjoyed the rub down with the towel when we got home. .
