What a shame. Sometimes things are just not meant to be. I'm sure Pearl will find her perfect home.

So sorry to hear it didn't work out for Pearl at her new home. I am sure as her confidence builds up she will be able to cope in another nice home. In the meantime you and Sadie are giving her the very best start! Perhaps we could meet up again at the cricket pitch with Pearl, Sadie and Lulu x

This afternoon Pearl (and Sadie) came to visit the two 'nutters' Merlin and Lulu as a test to see if Carol could leave Pearl with us whilst she goes to work on Sunday morning for four hours. Despite Pearl being extremely nervous and great trepidation as to how Merlin and Lulu, especially Lulu, would react it was pretty successful. Let the photos talk........... After Pearl ventured out of the corner we had some face to face, Pearl on the left. Then they all settled for a minute...... Sadie.... Lulu.... Merlin.... and Pearl got on the sofa..... They had a change round after a while and I managed to creep in and sit beside Pearl and eventually I was able to touch and stroke her and even play with her tail. Amazing! Pearl with Merlin behind and I'm sat right beside her!

It is perplexing to know that she is so comfortable with Sadie and there with Merlin and Lulu. I am hoping that she can stay with you Carol until rehomed as she so trusts you and looks to Sadie for safety and confidence. It will do her good to mix for a few hours with Wendy and Terry's two. She just needs more time to realise that we are all here for her and not to hurt her. x

That looks like she is making good progress. Well done Merlin and Lulu for being so good and making her feel comfortable (and everyone else too, of course).

My lovely Pearl is learning very quickly today that raised voices aren't menacing. Dad's hearing aid seems to have crashed and the telly which is normally on volume 14 was on 46 a minute ago! I needed a megaphone to tell Dad to turn it down and Pearl just looked on with curiosity and probably relief!

Apologies, have only just caught up on Pearl's thread. So sorry her potential home didn't work out for her but am very glad she is comfortable around Lulu and Merlin. That augurs well for Pearl, after she has gained a little more confidence, settling into a new home with the right dog or dogs around. You and Sadie are doing such a great job in helping Pearl adjust Carol. And rock on Wendy, Terry, Lulu and Merlin

Pearl spent yesterday morning with us and fitted in very well with Merlin and Lulu, snuggling up to Merlin on the sofa, playing running up and down the stairs games with Lulu and generally fitting in. She is very nervous around people, but at the same time liked to be in the same room as us and happily snoozed on the bed behind me with Merlin and Lulu while I dried my hair, so she isn't worried by machines! She must have been badly treated in the past to be so scared, but is a lovely little dog.

So pleased it went well yesterday morning.
Happily going to another household shows how much she has improved.
Well done Wendy and Terry for helping her.

I'm sorry that the potential new home didn't work out. Fate has a way of finding us the dog we really need so if this wasn't meant to be then it means the perfect home is out there and it's just a matter of time. Well done Wendy and Terry. I know that Lulu has been a bit of a handful for you and bringing in Pearl to meet her and Merlin was really nice of you. It sounds like they got on really well and it must have done Pearl a lot of good to socialise with all of you - dogs and humans!
