Charlie has certainly got the hang of bedtime now, as long as I make sure he has done both before bed.
I now get up and let him out as soon as I wake, and after that he goes back to bed, until I'm dressed and going down for the walk.
I have let him off-lead a few times now, and he sticks pretty close to Hugo and Lorna, and doesn't make a game of going back on the lead...
All good so far.
This morning he went to Uncle Graham for his post-op check and his first vaccination + worming. Graham thinks he might be less than 18 months, but difficult to be precise. He was very relaxed at the vets, lying down to wait his turn, and then greeting Graham nicely. Back in 2 weeks for second Vaccs. While we were in there we could hear Hugo howling at being left outside in the car with Lorna! If Charlie has to wait in the car he just lies down for a snooze! Charlie travels very well too, mostly lying down to wait for us to arrive. It's Hugo who is worked up, head out of the window, or panting over my shoulder..."Are we there yet?" etc.

Don't know how I've missed it but I only just caught up on this thread. Charlie looks and sounds like a lovely boy and he's certainly a very lucky hound to be fostered with K, M and H (I have personal experience here which leaves me more than a tad biased in this respect!) Glad you're getting to grips with Charlie's early morning toileting Keith. Can just see you on a zip-wire and think Colin should take a guiding hand in getting you trained! Good boy Hugo for being so accepting of Charlie's bed-cuddling - could you give Kalli a few lessons?!

The zip wire was meant to get Charlie out of the house quickly!. Keith doesn't need any training in high level antics. Remember the water tower abseil? You won't get me on the Bournemouth pier zipwire. me no likey heights. I'll leave that to the other grey haired old (braver) chap.

Charlie is enjoying his off-lead time now, and is quite a happy-go-lucky boy, greeting everyone, dogs and peeps, but not pushing them to play as much as Hugo does. He looks to me quite well, and comes back close if Lorna joins in with Hugo. He's quite cheeky though in goading Hugo to chase him at every opportunity. We all got drenched this morning, but this afternoon was lovely, so I managed to grab a couple of bits of video. You can see how gangly he is still. Definitely under 18months old.

Charlie has been off his food for the past two days, but was still happy to play and chase with Hugo. On advice took him to see Graham after this afternoon's walk, and yes he does have a raised temp. Probably ate something he shouldn't when chasing round the bushes with Hugo, looking for squirrels. After an injection to bring his temp down, and some of that paste to settle his digestion he should be back to normal self in no time.
I must confess we have enjoyed him lying down to snooze more than before!
