She's quite a big girl, bigger than I recall and looks strong in the shoulders. Big ears and tail to go with the huge, lovely eyes.
As for Rosie...

I really want a scruffy female but haven't got the room, she looks so sweet.

She is very sweet, and totally desperate to belong. I would say she should definitely be rehomed with another confident but calm dog. If she has not got me to follow around, she sticks to Dylan and is definitely happier outside if close to the other dogs. She is very playful and has some mad moments rolling on the carpet on her back in between doing the wall of death around the living-room or the yard. I have booked a fenced field from the nearest agility club for tomorrow morning so that she can run and play to her heart's content with my lot. She seems to me to be only around 18 months old. Her teeth are totally white and her clownish behaviour is definitely very young!
I have reached the stage in her muzzle training where I can fasten the muzzle behind her ears and leave it on for a short while. Once she is happy wearing it, we can be more adventurous in her socialisation training. Hopefully by next week i can start looking for volunteers, canine and humans! I will also feel less nervous letting her loose in the Arboretum where she can run safely eventually.
She shows no signs of separation anxiety in spite of being glued to me when I am home which is brilliant. I have great hopes for this little lady. She learns quickly but is going to need people around her who can read her very accurately and know how to give her "doggy" appeasement signals until she becomes more confident. Neil is learning fast and it was amazing to see the change in her last night when he came down from the office and she had a bit of a wobbly at his sudden appearance downstairs. He stood still, turned his head away and relaxed. She went straight up to him and nuzzled him, then allowed him to scratch her and started wagging her tail. She has been absolutely fine with him since.

Bit short as well. Maybe if Neil twitched his eyebrow as turned his head in a mysterously, wickedly evil manner, we could get some mileage out of it. Nah. Everything rests with the boxes if we're gonna get some excitement here. Especially now the muzzles being deployed. ... Soz. Not sure what I'm going on about. Drinking tea. Might switch to something more non-tea.

Back from our first visit to the agility field. All the hounds are fast asleep on various bits of furniture after a very successful 45 minutes of flat out racing, ball chasing and general grass munching and ditch sampling for Sophie who just HAD to lie in it when she got a bit warm!
The fencing of the field is the best I have ever seen. The gates have a board under the bottom gap and are blocked with wire mesh. The fence is 4'6 high which is ample for Rosie who shows no signs of wanting to jump anything. She had the best time ever running like the wind with hardly a break. That girl is fit! Sophie had to be muzzled for five minutes at first when she turned into a bully (female jealousy?) but then remembered she is really a sweet friendly girl and all was well. I am booking it again for next week. I am hoping to keep Rosie free from frustration while she has to be on a long lead by letting her run her heart out regularly as well. If she seems ok and I can muzzle her we will try her at the Manor Park field this week-end where she will have to mix with other dogs. We know most of the other dogs there by now and the owners are very understanding and sensible usually.

The rain this morning was so heavy I tried to convince the dogs to wait for their walk. Dylan just would not take no for an answer, so off we went to the Arboretum where there are lots of very large trees to shelter under. We had the place to ourselves as the only mad ones around of course. Rosie was happy to have her muzzle on and was off lead with Dylan and Sophie. Some friends came in later with their four dogs and Rosie was a bit shy but very happy to run and play with their dogs. She is a delight and was brave enough to take treats from my friends with a bit of coaxing. She is definitely getting braver and less jumpy as she finds her feet, she is really a lovely little hound. Back to the Forest on her long line tomorrow to meet more dogs and people.

We had a bit of a reality check this afternoon. A friend of mine came over for a visit. She is very dog savvy and is used to coping with unbroken horses calmly and efficiently, so was an ideal first visitor. It was very obvious that Rosie was very worried and would have been prepared to take action to get my friend off the premises if allowed. She did take treats from her and was ok with enough distance between them. We now have to devise a desensitising strategy to allow Rosie to gain confidence with strangers who come into the house and to keep everything calm.
This is my cue to say my house is now open house to anybody who fancies a chat and a cup of coffee and a biscuit, anytime. You will be in no danger of getting your ankles pinched as the idea is to get Rosie gently used to visitors by making sure she is kept at a distance where she will not react while she is being fed treats for being calm. Hopefully if I get enough visitors we will turn her into a very sociable and welcoming young hound. Pm. me if you come my way, even a 10 minutes visit will be a help!

Love the attire Simon. So glad Rosie is settling in she will be fit as she went out running twice a day with me. Lovely updates give her a big Hug from Badger who misses her the most. She is probably older than 18mts despite her teeth being so clean and her playfulness Is probably due to the fact she has never been allowed to have fun

I can't wait to see the neighbours' reactions when you arrive, Simon!
I will definitely give her a hug from Badger, Tina. I am not surprised he is missing her, Dylan is fairly smitten I think. I have never seen him make such a fool of himself trying to impress Rosie! And she is having a lot of fun. She delights in taking the toys and chews out of their box one by one every morning and goes from one to the other. She has been trying to get Ollie to play but he does not quite trust her enough yet unlike Sophie and Dylan who think she is a great playmate and running companion.
