Scruffy is back from her op. It all went smoothly - she is a bit subdued but I am sure will perk up tomorrow. Then it will be impossible to keep her calm, I expect.

really pleased to hear that the op went well. I'm betting she'll be up and running tomorrow as thought nothing had happened.

The vet said her heart, lungs etc sounded very healthy.
The vet nurse told me she hated giving sight hounds and lurchers their pre-med injections because they were such wimps - I reassured her that Scruffy would probably behave more like a terrier - and, true to form, she hardly even noticed it.
She's slept this evening - but just woke up as there was a knock at the door. A lady asking for a light for her cigarette (at 10.30 at night?). I was a bit suspicious so said I couldn't help (I think I have matches somewhere but wasn't going to leave her at my door while I looked). I think she may have been a traveller, may be I am paranoid but it all seemed a bit odd.

I would certainly not even open my door at that time of night! Very odd. Cuddles to my little Scruffy friend.

Not at all 'paranoid', sounds very dodgy to me Philippa. Take especial care Do hope you all had a good night and that little Scruffy is feeling better this morning

Well you wouldn't know that Scruffy had an op. She has poo'd and pee'd, eaten her white fish breakfast and taken her painkiller (but actually not sure she fells pain - she definitely has the terrier toughness rather than the whippet wimpiness).
Gonna be a nightmare lead walking her.

Tough as old boots this one. Full walk today at Greenham but she behaved well and didn't complain too much about being on the lead.

Little girlie had her post op check today. All well so we are off to meet her prospective family on Saturday. Fingers crossed that it all goes well and they and their current dog like her.
