Told you you'd love her Toni! I'm so pleased that she is so happy with your pack. It's great that she now has someone who will play with her. She slept well here both nights, and with all the racing around with your lot she's surely going to be flat out tonight. Can't wait to see her progress, and I can't see her being in foster for long.

First night passed uneventfully, Tess slept on a bed on the floor in the bedroom for the night, she did initially get on my bed but I politely informed her that there was not enough room and once she was settled she was okay. I also think that once the novelty of being out of kennels and having so many dogs to play with has worn off, then she will soon settle. She is an absolute poppet, she leans yes leans and has the Grey?Saluki huffy puffy cheek thingy as well Have had a slight setback this morning in that Mummies girl Lottie is getting a bit jealous of the attention Tess is getting and has got the strop with her a couple of times and is now sulking . So I hope we find Tess a lovely home soon, before Lottie leaves home. Have ordered her a padded harness to see if that helps with the walking, she doesn't so much pull, it's more the case that she finds it difficult to walk at a human pace (my Wipuki Alfie was just the same), she prefers to gently glide at a trot. I am not sure about the name Tess, what do you all think of Saffron, Saffy for short Pics from last night

Love the name Saffy. Poor Lottie you will have to explain to her that it is only temporary! I am sure they will settle in a couple of days. . I could have been tempted with this one but we have decided Rowlf just isn't ready yet to accept a friend into his house, if at all!

Just got back from our first proper walk, roped my neighbours teenage daughter into helping out. Saffy does pull a bit, but as I have said before, I think it is more the fact that she finds my walking pace difficult to match, when we really slowed down she was much better, but I am going to take her out for 1 to 1 sessions. In typical Saluki style she is not motivated by treats, but I always carry a squeaky in my dog walking bag and that got her attention. Managed to get her to sit for the first time this morning, don't think she has had any training at all. She is such a sweet Hound, not very big, elegant with the most beautiful big brown eyes. Bit of a heartbreaker

Took Saffy for afternoon tea round to my friends John and Gill, she was the perfect house guest , she just lay on her bed in the shade as good as gold. I am trying, but so far can't find fault in this lovely girl, she is so easy

I like Saffron/Saffy - suits her more than Tess if you change the name, don't you have to keep them?? Glad you had a good night, and a little sulking from Lottie is a minor thing to work through. We found the padded harness good with Greta as she pulled to begin with. The collar/tag is in the 1st class post Toni, so should be with you tomorrow/Weds. x

Tried Saffy in one my old harnesses on our evening walk and she walked like a dream. Also I think "SHE MAY BE CAT FRIENDLY" . Took her and Lottie to say hello to some friends down the lane who have a kitten, it was on the drive when we arrived and Lottie as usual went ballistic, Saffy paid no attention to the kitten and was more interested in saying hello to Caroline . Have also been slowly itroducing her to Lucy the lonely chicken, at first she was very keen, but now she just looks at her with mild interest. She really cannot be this perfect, I just hope that when I introduce her to children she doesn't want to bite their heads off .

Another quiet night with the lovely Saffron . She is starting to respond to Saffy now, whereas she completely ignored me when I called Tess. This girl is an absolute delight , if it weren't for the fact that Lottie does not approve, I would be begging MC to let me fail again . I must be strong, but she is so like my Alfie, but without the bad bits I think she was an only Dog in her previous home, as she is happier being with me than with the other Hounds, so could be rehomed as an only child. She is also more than happy to play on her own with a ball in the garden. I am going to do more cat testing later today, because that went very well yesterday. Not much more that I can say other than she is perfect in every way and whoever homes her is going to be one very very lucky person and I will be very envious. Am trying to arrange for her to have an offlead blast in my friends paddock in the next couple of days, from what I have seen in the garden, she is going to be very fast Paws under the table Out on our walk this morning, a petite little girl

Another uneventful night with Saffy, she woke me at 7.15 this morning by placing her lovely cold wet nose on my arm and wagging her tail Best alarm clock ever. Saffy is definitely child friendly, yesterday before we knew what was happening, a neighbours 4 year old had thrown her arms around Saffy's neck and given her a huge , Saffy loved it . Tried her with little Alfie cat again, this time on her own and she just wanted to play, tail was wagging and Alfie cat obviously did not feel threatened by her as he came and lay down very close to her. So I think with initial precautions, ie muzzle and lead, she will be cat friendly. Going to try and leave her with mine for the first time today. Will see how that goes.

She sounds like the perfect little girl and she is so pretty.... I'm predicting it was a mistake to rename her! It's the first step in seeing her as yours, Toni!!! I'm sure Lottie will get used to her. Even if she doesn't end up loving her they have a way of coming to terms with each other. You're doing a great job in testing out all the potential issues and what a sweetie she is to come through them all so far with flying colours

Wow what long legs she looks like a bambi on the bed . Looks like Lottie may be coming round if she wants to play bitey face . Looks like your catching Romi up on numbers? Good job your obviously doing as she looks so happy ( and why wouldn't she be at yours) x
