Little devil carried half a load of brown bread around the woods today, I managed to entice it off him with a treat, and later today he chased out of the woods and followed his nose onto the field! Luckily near home so I walked the other way and he followed. He is a free spirit but loves the other dogs so does follow. xx

Little Paddy went on an adventure with John and Jane and their little girlie Hattie at the weekend. But despite several introductions to the Cats, Paddy was intent on chasing them. I think one cat would have been fine, but three were too much temptation as they liked to run upstairs on seeing him. I would worry that Paddy would turn Hattie into a cat chaser, so little Paddy is coming back into us today.
He is a dear little lad and I wouldn't want his character to change, so this is the best thing for all. John is kindly doing the bulk of the transport run up to meet me.

What a shame, three puss cats would be a challenge for any dog

If a cat were used to dogs and was bold enough to swipe him and stand his ground, I think he would tow the line. But, unfortunately John's cats ran, which made it a game from the start.

Met the lovely Paddy this afternoon; Jenny and I, with Megan, Mim and Sykes along for the ride, went for a 'quiet' walk. It was rudely interrupted by an off-lead flatcoat retriever not being the best advert on National Black Dog Day and its twonky owner and then I dropped Sykes's lead so we had to go back and find it but Paddy was impeccably behaved at all times. He's good with other dogs and people and his recall is amazing! Also: Sykes liked him! At first meeting! And he's male! Because of all the shenanigans we lost the light rather and I only managed to take two photos but here they are. Playtime (yep, that's Sykes's relaxed face, I know it's hard to tell...) What a genuinely lovely pup. He's brilliant.

Paddy is shattered Jules. He had a lovely time. I can't fault this lovely lad. Okay, he may need picking up and putting in the car but he doesn't have any travel sickness or dribbling, just a fear of being put into a car. He is an absolute poppet. SYKES SAY SO. XXX

Lovely Paddy has left the building. I couldn't bear him to worry about travel so took him myself to his new mum. He was an absolute poppet in the car, no dribbling and no being sick and just settled quietly for the 2 hour journey. I am absolutely thrilled with his new home and hope to have some at-home photos through soon. I took a few photos but just need to sort out some lunch and the dogs before posting. Paddy took it all in his stride, met at least half a dozen new dogs and was so polite. WHY DO I NOT KEEP THE LOVELY ONES? Here is Paddy and his new BF And having a lovely run on the grasslands. And relaxing.
