DeeDee snoozing. She was sick earlier but made sure to get to the garden!! However ....... Not quite so in the study .... She peed on a storage bag containing about 25 carefully ironed shirts belonging to Paul due to be put away!! Washing machine on overdrive and no guesses as to what I will be doing.
As she is younger than initially thought do I need to get her puppy food?

Have sent you a text re the food Nancy, but I've done a quick search and it seems that until 12 - 18 months (depending on size of breed) they still need the extra calories from puppy food. I would give Afrivet a quick call for more advice though. x

It's all the funnier as Paul ironed and folded them all to go away (winter clobber) and I was the one who, for the first time ever, did something without first consulting him ... Offering DeDee a foster home. P said that whilst I was at the vet collecting D he did think that he would pop them into the loft but having had a minor op that morning thought he had better wait until I was home in case he fainted whilst up the ladder! Had she been a monster I think the situation might have been more than comical but impossible to see it otherwise with her wonderfully laid back, gentle nature. Famous last words?

Thanks Loz for checking. She had some grated cheese, chicken, rice and gravy for lunch which she thoroughly enjoyed. Thanks Jenny.
A very quiet lazy day for all the dogs in and out of the house. Had their beds outside which they liked.
An excellent patient.

Another good night. At the vets this pm for a check up. DeeDee just wants to race around playing so keeping the girls separated whilst in the garden especially.
All three dogs had a singing/howling session yesterday followed by lots of cuddles and kisses. Very interesting to watch.
Paul took our two out for a long walk last evening. D fretted and missed them. Lots of kisses and joy upon their return. She loves the company of other dogs. Gets on particularly well with Suki. I am delighted to say that my dear gent Alfie is behaving like one these days!!
DeeDee made me laugh ... As she does regularly ... Whilst Suki was out DeeDee went around sniffing 'Suki's place' on the sofas then placed her front two paws gingerly on the sofa and thought to hell with it gently bringing the rest of her body up and lying down in one graceful movement. I did not see how Suki reacted to the smell of DeeDee on her throne upon her return.
Still not house trained. She went through the night clean. I let her out for a wee but let her back in too soon for the other as Suki was anxious to get out. Should have got the lead. My fault.

All went well at the vet. Back in a week for a further check and the second part of her vacs. Difficult keeping DeeDee still. Graham said that she can walk but no stretching or jumping.
The kitchen door has been open all day. She went out specifically to do her business then came back in. Just needs to learn to ask from now.
Such a sweet, gentle, loving, laid back girl. She has fitted in unbelievably well with our other two. They sing together and enjoy group cuddles. Suki and DeeDee are always playing, nuzzling and really enjoy being together. Clearly loves the company of other dogs.
Perhaps a young family wanting a second dog?

DeeDee desperate for a jolly good run. She is pottering in the garden happily and then suddenly decides she wants a splurge. I do feel terrible stopping her from playing and dont get much done constantly being on alert. A very happy, lovely girl.
She was delightful with my neighbours girls who are about 10.
I have seen her going out specifically to do her business as she did yesterday however today she piddled ... Twice ... In the house. Once as the kitchen door was closed and the other she was right next to me. Bless Alfie ... He came in with that look on his face as if to say 'oh dear, mum, she has done another'. I say a firm 'no' and take her outside for a bit. Hope this is right.
Paul said she walked beautifully on a harness today. She does pull on a normal lead.
A few times I have caught her trying to have a little chew on things but as soon as I say no she stops. All the little soft dog toys have been destroyed but she and Suki had great fun in the process!
Now all three have taken themselves off to bed ... Have Italian friends over shortly for the match which I am sure will be raucous.

Hope you crack the house training soon N, afraid I have no advice having been blessed with woofers who know what to do and where! She's still only a babby though. We (that is to say Andrew) have had to significantly tone down any football related exuberance, as hound ears are most sensitive to raised voices!

Don't worry Loz we kept the voices down which was not difficult. Henry went to get a rug off his bed ... Mum does this feel wet? As DeeDee does not get up onto the beds or sofas could this possibly be Suki? Surely DeeDee would not get onto the bed, have a crafty pee then jump off?
