Suzy was rehomed around 3 year's ago. The couple who adopted her were her fosters. And when it came to it they could not part with her. Circumstances have now changed, in that they have 7 month old baby and Suzy is feeling the change. She is a sensitive dog, the crying puts her on edge and she is not happy. They feel she would be happier in a home without children, perhaps a retired couple. As Suzy was prone to separation anxiety when the couple first adopted her, we are not looking to rehome her to anyone who is out of the house for work.
She is currently living with a whippet male and the couple have a cat.
Some piccies in of Suzy, and hopefully more to follow.
This is what her relinquishing Adopters have to say about Suzy - a Lovely loving girl.
.............................................................................................
Photos never do her justice. She is a very attractive girl and always gets comments on her shiny coat. She is 24’’ to the shoulder and about 22kgs.
A total people person – LOVES adults. Very affectionate and cuddly. Sofa time is a must. Will get down if told to.
Other dogs. Still some fear aggression if on lead. Only reactive, just warns and barks. Can look quite mean when she does it. If off lead she will just keep away.
Occasionally she takes a complete shine to a dog and wants to be best friends. Usually greyhounds.
Does NOT like bouncy in your face dogs. Hates most labs.
Could live with a calm dog – but I think ideally she would like to be an only dog. If she takes a dislike to a dog, then she really takes umbrage at them being anywhere near her.
Lives with a cat. Cat must be dog savvy. Will have a sniff and probably a chase if she could get away with it.
Beautiful on lead and off. Will chase the wildlife but not with any real intent. Not tested with rabbits or chickens. Good recall, doesn’t want to go far from her humans, keeps an eye on where you are.
Not an escape artist – but would jump a low fence obviously.
In the house - Not used to sleeping on beds, would think she had died and gone to heaven if she could. Needs a calm and quiet environment. No kids under ten. Can and will snap if afraid or protecting her bed/possessions. No desire to cause harm but could do if things went wrong. Will not cope with little fingers poking or prodding. Only concerned by other dogs and kids – never adults/teenagers. Visiting kids would be ok as long as she can get away and go to her space. Has not had a crate for years but can’t see any issue with her having one again.
Most important – no stress. No crying babies or busy family life. Peace and quiet is what Suzy needs and in that environment she is an absolute dream to live with.
Can be left 3-4 hours. Ideally with a bone, kong or rawhide.
Wants to be with her human(s) nearly all the time. Needs love, reassurance and comfort. Not a confident dog. Needs an owner who is.
If Suzy can be the main focus of someone’s attention most of the time she will shine and give back tenfold.
Playful and fun on walks – likes to play sticks and do zoomies. Don’t bother with balls unless you want to get through two a day……
5/6 years old, no health problems. Eats a quality dry food, will have some raw.
