Sadly, they are going to have to be split. Rollie will go to Collie Rescue, and thanks to Freedom over the wet bit Shaun will be coming into SLR. We are still waiting to hear when the best day is to do this as we need to move them both at the same time.

I wish there was some way they could have been kept together. I know will cope much better than we give them credit for, but I still hate the idea of this being me and my dogs. Such a shame. And sorry Carole, that's not to detract at all from you fostering Shaun. Well done and thank you.

It is sad - but I am sure they will both find great homes and make new friends. It would be quite difficult to find someone who caters for both collies and lurchers. Looking forward to hearing about Shaun.

I wish we weren't quite so nomadic... We definitely cater for both - collies are our favourite after bitsas - and we always fall for the oldies

At least both are going to foster rescues with other dogs in the family. xxx I feel I have let them down now.

It's Wednesday and just waiting for the off to meet Ian and collect the lovely Shaun. Yesterday we popped to Argos and bought another dog bed and a double feeder stand, so we are almost ready. Leo took to the new bed immediately so it might be difficult to prize him out and they couldn't understand why the other feeder was empty . Will post more when we have collected Shaun and brought him home. Marty is meeting me in Cowes with our three so they can meet in the Park first. Why am I up so early !

First of all we would like to thank Ian very much for transporting the lovely Shaun. His timings were brilliant and it gave me more time in Southampton to get to know Shaun before the next Jetfoil. It was very nice to meet you Ian. Best wishes for your sailing summer.
Next we would like to send our thoughts to the relinquishing owners who must be very sad to have to part with both Shaun and Rollie. They know they have made the best decision and that SLR and the Fosters will give them both love and care before they are sent on to their new forever homes.
The trip on the Jetfoil went very well and Shaun took it all in his stride by laying on the floor all through the trip. He has had a tiring and confusing day, but bless him when we got to the park in Cowes to meet Marty and our three he took on a will of his own, bless him. So a fairly good response from all and after a walk around the park we piled into the car for our trip home. Car journey all calm. On arrival at home we just let them sort themselves out and they are now all crashed out in various beds and the sofa. Still a little wary of each other but no fisty cuffs yet. Shortly they will have their dinner of chicken and rice and hopefully Shaun will be able to eat it. He has refused treats at the moment but guess that is due to stress. He certainly likes his tummy rubbed and is fine with Marty and me. A couple of pics, not brilliant, but it is a start. He is much smaller than we thought and seems to have a mind of his own. It will be interesting to see whether we get a calm night. Fingers crossed. One final thing, we were sorry to learn that sadly Rollie couldn't be moved today after all, so will not be in the Collie Rescue for another few days. WTG Rollie. Love to all.
