Meggie continues to be a very good girl, and is getting more confident and over the top with the others. She has had a few telling off's from Cocoa and Pinky when she has gone, just that bit too far, but generally speaking all four of my dogs are being very good with her. It is all part of the puppy learning process. She continues to be clean in the house but when I go down in the morning she gets so excited at seeing me that she does a little wee. It really is not a problem as we have tiles on the floor, but just thought it was worth mentioning to any prospective new owner. I know she will grow out of this as she matures. She is quite laid back most of the time and really enjoys playing with the others. I have let her off lead in the paddock a couple of times now and she enjoys running free. She comes to her name MOST of the time but as she is learning the pleasures of running free outside she sometimes becomes deaf, but never for long and comes bouncing back to me. One of the best things for me is the way that once she has been outside early in the morning she runs upstairs and quietly relaxes on our bed for an hour or so until we are ready to get up. We have had other foster hounds who have never really understood that this is what we do but she has picked up the vibes from the others and just does what they do (and we get to have a nice lay in of course). Unfortunately Billy introduced Meggie to the joys of rabbit poo today and it was difficult to get any decent photos as she was totally preoccupied, but here are a few.

She is adorable. Any idea how big she might get ? Do you think she would be quite a confident girl ?

Too late! It's ok, I have the larger version already and I think two of Scruff would be too confusing. She does look like a lovely little girl, and I bet she's smart too. She has that clever look about her.

I had to take Meggie to the vets yesterday as she became very lame on her rear leg Friday evening. She was in a lot of pain and walking on three legs. It came on so quickly.
I left Meggie at the vets for X-rays and collected her at 4pm.
The vet confirmed the leg was not broken and there was no sign of it previously being broken. However she feels there may be a problem with the tendon and she will discuss and show the x rays to a specialist, hopefully tomorrow. I will take her back to vet on Tuesday
Poor little Meggie is having crate rest all the time and I carry her outside ever 3 hours. I have one crate in the dogs room and another in the room with us. She is such a sensible, good little puppy that in between crate rest she sits with me on the settee and just lays quite still next to me. She is on Metacam once daily but the leg is still quite painful. I will speak to vet tomorrow if the pain is no better and see what she says.
