Beautiful photos - his colouring looks great and what a gorgeous sheen his coat has (you've captured it marvellously)!

lovely photos Mark. He really is a handsome boy and has the character to match. I don't understand why he hasn't been snatched up.

I also met the lovely Comet and his extended pack of Hounds and Humans at Celia Cross. He is gorgeous, such a beautiful dog, inside and out, my pic is rubbish compared to Donna's shots, but I was holding my three at the time!!

... Simon (loosecannon) has already knicked some of the photos ... Oi! Sharing photos of Jet on Jet's thread, with a link to where they came from (Copied from the Celia Cross photo fest thread), is a strange kind of theft. Removed to help reduce photo-overload, all be that is hard with the shiney boy.

We have had torrential rain, thunder and lightning here and are going into winter mode but Comet does not seem to pay any attention to the weather's temperamental outbursts. No fear of thunder or lightning, but dislike of getting soaked forgotten once outside with smells and squirrels to follow. Unfortunately, he is getting rather too good at the latter and managed to kill a squirrel while wearing his muzzle in the Arboretum last week . In spite of being obviously delighted with his catch he remembered the toy retrieve training we have done and gave it to me willingly when I asked him for it. On our outing to the Manor Park field on Saturday, we met a lovely rescue lurcher called Bryn and he had a great time socialising with Comet, Sophie and Dylan. Bryn and Comet understand each other' s growls, lunges and chase moves so well we have agreed to meet again . I think Bryn and his owner may well join our next SLR walk as well as I was asked for the details. Another first for Comet last week (not a cringe-making one this time!). He has finally bypassed the lying-down first stage of sitting and is now sitting down by lowering his bottom straightaway . For me, this is huge as this is a dog I have never seen sit down voluntarily. To him, sitting is a trick, something unnatural. I trained him by asking him to lie down first, then to raise his front end, all the time wondering if, one day, his brain would short-circuit the action and it has. A bright dog trying his hardest to please I think. Comet carries on being the perfect house-guest, a super affectionate one who seemed quite unfazed to be relegated to the 'wrong' side of the child gate this week-end with his friends as my 20 months old grandchild was staying with us. To sweeten their exile the dogs were given access to our bedroom all day and, every time I checked on them, Comet was proudly lying on the bed with his favourite toy observing all the comings and goings through the first floor window! Comet is still waiting for his fun and exercise packed permanent home. He of course requires a comfortable settee to chill on as well to recover from his exertions.

It was really nice to meet Comet at last. Although there are lots of lovely photos of him, I must say that in the flesh he is even more handsome than he looks in the pictures. He isn't as big as I thought he would be and has a lovely fine-featured face. His coat is really shiny and he looks so healthy. He is very friendly and behaved really well on the walk. It was funny calling Comet and having two dogs look up! Here's a photo of my Comet and Daisy following Comet on the walk on Sunday. He's taller than my two, although the perspective makes both of mine look taller than they are, but you can get an idea of how lovely and sleek Comet is, even from behind! I can't understand why he hasn't been snapped up. He is so handsome and such a lovely nature. Comet and Comet and Daisy

A long walk in the New Forest for all of us today. Is Comet hoping for a foolhardy squirrel to cross our path? Come on chaps, a bit of order in the ranks! (Comet's sit looks terribly awkward with his bottom quite a few inches from the ground) Trying to get comfortable after our long walk but Comet's bottom is definitely not behaving like other dogs'!

What a lovely boy that Comet is. He will be such a brilliant addition to a family. Look at that sweet expression on his face, I think Comet has kind eyes.

The website also has a mind of its own tonight I think. This picture was supposed to be at the top of my last post but after trying three times to reinstall it in the right place I have given up!

What more could anyone want?? This boy is just stunning....I'm amongst the others who have met Comet many times and if we could, we would have him ourselves in an instant. Annette has worked her magic (as always) on his training and socialisation, he's just a super boy.
