Oh my - he's gorgeous Don't fail again thoughts coming your way Sue Thank you Rachel, I need all those don't fail again thoughts believe me. He is one stunning hound and is like a big floppy puppy at the moment and definitely has deerhound in him me thinks Jenny, he has huge paws We had a bit of an unsettled night, bless him. He is a little bewildered with all that has happened to him in the last few days so is only to be expected. He was a great hit at the vets where he behaved impeccably, he is a gentle soul with everyone and may be cat trainable but I will try to find a local cat that wants to test this theory LOL He is good with all my dogs big and small and will be fine with children too I think as he is such a puppy himself. He still has to be toilet trained but has done his business on the paper so that's some way to getting there. He is vocal at the moment when you leave him to move around the house, even when he is with another dog, he just wants to be with you and he counter surfs too but just to have a look, not stolen anything yet So all in all he is a stunning boy

Unfortunately poor Harley has KC and is feeling a little low at the moment. We went for a gentle walk yesterday and I must say what a dream he was to walk he walked so well you hardly knew he was on the other end of the lead,

Harley hasn't been coughing much today and has been out in the garden playing with his ball He is so funny, he throws the ball himself and chases it for ages without getting fed up ;D He is such a lovely hound with a fantastic character, he is going to make someone a stunning friend. He has it all really, he is a gentle gorgeous soul, that deserves the best of homes.

Harley has stopped coughing and is now FULL of beans ;D We have had the quiet interlude and now have the true Harley lol He is a lovely gentle lad and loves everyone He has loads of energy and will best suit a home that is active. Now his kc throat is better he does pull a little on the lead so will need on going training, his toilet training is improving too, he has been clean for the last three nights and is beginning to learn the "wee wees" command although during the day he is very easily distracted with the smallest thing as he wants to play etc so am out there hanging around sometimes for ages repeating "wee wees" while he is distracted by birds, noises etc He is good at night and sleeps through till 6/7am ish. I think he will need another dog in the house as he lacks confidence and can be quite jumpy and a little vocal when he is worried and having my dogs helps him. I think I need to revise the cat status as he does chase, not in a particularly hunt/prey way just in a big puppy "what's that, looks like fun" kind of way ;D and oh any prospective adopters for Harley had better not be particularly lawn proud although to be fair to Harley he has had to get rid of most of his energy in the garden while he has had KC and we have had awful wet weather recently My lawn post Harley Here's the gorgeous lad

RAY He certainly is He now runs to his own area for breakfast and dinner and sits when asked. He is quite boisterous but is very respectful if my hounds don't want to play and will leave them alone after a reminder I never feel that he will be aggressive in any way as he is very submissive, anyone taking this lovely lad on will need to think of him as still a puppy and carry on with his training and socialization but will be rewarded with a fantastic and loving companion

He sounds very much like Dave, he is getting more and more like a puppy playing with the other dogs here . Those pictures make him look so regal and proud. A VERY Handsome boy. Pity about the lawn, I thought I could have a lawn and Lurchers but decided its just more fun to have holes, mud and very happy Lurchers!

Me too ;D ;D I'd got so used to Danny pottering around in his dotage and then Clyde with his delicate tip toeing around that I wasn't at all prepared for the full on puppy lurcher tearing around play and now they are all joining in and it's such fun to watch so who cares about the lawn it'll recover in the summer I expect, and totally agree it's much better to have happy hounds ;D

Newbie here- hello all! What a gorgeous, gorgeous boy. I am looking to adopt as our big old guy is old and not expected to last to the end of the year. We are looking for a cat friendly dog. Do you know how Harley reacts to cats? I know the usual answer with sighthounds but there is the occasional exception. Here's to hoping!

Hi cis62404 ;D I don't think Harley is cat friendly I'm afraid and he is very young and over enthusiastic at the moment and probably wont give your old chap a moments peace
