This is Lurcher play, and Ronnie was being attacked on both sides. He is just to die for. You've just got to love him... We do.

An update on lovely Ronnie. He is still with us in Essex. He is, at the moment, plaster from top of his leg to his toes. As a youngster he must have fractured his knee at some point, and also his growth plates didn't come together, probably from lack of bone growing food. Ronnie was having a lovely run and pulled up screaming and dragging his leg. On x-ray it was found that the old fracture had re-opened. It was decided to pin his knee joint and wire the plates to grow closer together. Ronnie, being Ronnie, has taken all this in his stride. He will have the case removed next week and a new cast on for a couple more week and then restrictive exercise until healed. So... Ronnie is going to be with us for a good six weeks. Meanwhile, he continues to be the loveliest dog in the world. And I am not just saying that... He is a gentle, loving, happy and loyal dog. And if I could I would keep him His best friend, little puppy Ripley continues to stay by his side and Ronnie even enjoys having his usual raaraars with him. We will update shortly. Here are a few piccies of lovely Ronnie with Rippers and a video of him with his cast on. And with SLR Vet - Anil It will be a very very special home that is allowed to adopt this lad as he has my heart and soul with him. Click to view the video

Ronnie never ceases to amaze me. He has had two cast changes, been in absolute agony over the last couple of days, attended a fundraiser with a superb temperament and today had his cast off as his body just couldn't take the rubbing any longer. He is lying behind me on the sofa as I type. Ronnie is to die for. He needs another week of rest, and then light walks and some hydrotherapy. He will have to undergo another op to remove the pins and wire but that is several weeks time. What a wonderful wonderful dog. Back on Friday for a checkup to see how he is going. So at the moment he is restricted to the office with me, and a sofa to himself.

We're taking is slowly, one day ata time. Ronnie isn't allowed off lead until well in November. And then it would be without any other dogs around, just in case he is encouraged to run. Another 5 weeks to go until he has his pins and wires removed and then gentle build up of exercise to get the leg working. Ronnie, being Ronnie, takes everything in his stride. He has a lovely disposition, and it helps that he is quite a lazy couch boy. He is starting to put some weight on, and loves his dinners, of which he is on 3 full ones a day

We're getting there Keith. He has put on a couple of kilos. I will try to get a piccie of him outside tomorrow to compare how he was and is. He does loose weight easily and probably will drop a kilo on his next op. He has nearly another 4 weeks to go before the pins come out again. He and Ripper keep me on my toes.
