Sam was picked up as a stray. He was taken straight to the Vets as he pood blood and was sick in the Dog Warden's van. He has spent a week in the Vets and was taken off a drip on Wednesday and given the clear to move today. I didn't expect such a tiny pup when I met up with Kelly at Brentwood. I said to her, "where is it"? And she said, "probably in the well of the car". Which he was. He then popped his little head up. Gorgeous. Sam is around 5.5 months old, is on anti-biotics at the moment for colitis and so will not be vaxed for another week. He is quite thin so we will put him back onto bland and then puppy food to build him up. Sam won't be a big Lurcher boy, as his makeup looks whippet x border collie. He met a ferret at the vets, and a cat and was curious but quiet. I have yet to hear him make any sort of noise. He loves Mollie and doesn't seem phased by anything. I had to walk him to the postbox at the vets and only the big vans and buses going by worried him. He hasn't been on a lead or worn a collar before as he just wants to scratch it off. He is an all-round lovely little chap. I defy anyone not to fall in love with him. Sorry about the photos. I will get some decent ones tomorrow. Oh, and Ronnie is loving having another pup around.

Performed a wee outside the Vets, performed a poo on the patio, soft but okay, and performed another wee on command outside ;D He has just had a small amount of chappie, but will have dinner with the biggies when they eat again. He doesn't attack his food, so that's good. Sam has just settled on the floor next to me in the office. Bum... I've left the camera in the kitchen and Michael is out walking the dogs. He is so so cute and so worldly for a pup.

Well done team for another one saved. That must have been a nightmare drive in the fog. He is adorable - yes I'd guess some collie, he has that expression! I'm a black fan too - all my dogs and most of my cats for over 30 years have been black!

Sam has settled into the pack very easily. He tried to wind Mims up but she took none of it, and Esme just loves to mother them all. Ronnie is his best friend and playmate at the mo. I got some photos this morning. You can get a better idea of how small little Sam is. I should imagine he won't get bigger than 23" to the shoulder when fully grown. Mollie is quite smitten. Thanks to Laylah he has a little coat to wear. I know it's pink Mims is 21" to the shoulder. You can see how small Sam is.

He's just delightful - so pleased he's in your safe hands now. Looks as if Mollie will need a bit of prizing away though.
