Rory's new mum and dad rang on Monday. They love him to bits and feel that he has been with them forever. They can't believe that no-one wanted him. Also, Rory's relinquishing owner emailed me to say a big thank you to both Ade and Nikki and Rory's new mum and dad for giving Rory such a lovely new start, and wished them him love and said that he was so grateful that Rory came into SLR and has a lovely new life. I know how heart-wrenching it was for him to let Rory go, and having known Rory for a few months, we now know why. Rory is just to die for. xxx

Spoke to Rory's new mum & dad tonight. Well, what can I say? He's settled in perfectly ;D Rory & Poppy are loving each others company, racing off together over the fields, playing in the snow & wandering down the lanes. He happily curls up for naps with Poppy and on the laps on his mum & dad too He met some more of the grandchildren this weekend. They loved playing football with him and he loved their company too. Sounds like one for Happy Endings mummy chook xx

I've had an email from Rory's relinquishing dad. He would like to say thank you to all. My little Rory Roo! ....So lovely too see you've found your forever home. I cant begin to thank you all enough for what you have done. All my love to you all who helped him along to the star his is today!. & to Rory's new Mum & Dad! a big thank you, what a lovely boy you now have there!. A little background info for you all about his life before I rescued him so he will have more hugs & cuddles. Rory's owner had mental health issues and his neighbour alerted me (knowing I'm a Lurcher softy) that his owner had sadly past away. Rory was found by his side a couple of days later. Rory was loved but not in the best shape. Skinny, food aggression, worms the list went on as you can imagine. Poor lad had not been house trained and would run away frequently & did not understand the most basic of commands etc. On one occassion he and his other dog pal (a Westie) had a half a carrot top to share for dinner. So in the short time i had him i did my best to turn him around into the sweet dog he is....I could see his potential shining through. It's amazing how he wasn't psychologically damaged also. Now he's finally got the perfect Mum & Dad & love he deserves at long last. He will no doubt give his affection back in return tenfold. It would be nice to see how he's getting on once in a while, although i thankfully need not worry at all. Take Care & my love to you all. Mark x

He is a little star & amazingly well-adjusted considering all he's been through. Hopefully his new family will join the forum (they do intend to) so we can keep up with him, would be great to keep in touch. Nikki & I were talking about him only yesterday wondering how he's enjoying the snow in all his new fields

Rory's first dad has sent in a piccie of his lovely Celie, who was the reason he fell in love with Lurchers.

Wonderful photos - I was only thinking of this gorgeous boy a day or 2 ago and was going to pm to see if there was news, so this is a perfectly timed update. Bless his little heart - he deserves this life xxx
