Lovely Lizzie is back on top form, and even though it was drizzly here and we opted for the local walk up through the woods, she still found enough squirrels and traces of foxes to keep her racing hither and thither. When we got back I put down some dry kibble, but she is not very hungry nowadays until the more interesting main meal after the afternoon walk. She is certainly relaxed in her crate though: Her scar is still a little rough to the touch, but gives her no trouble. She is becoming an increasingly cheeky madam, trying to get Caspar to play in the garden, and starting to play with some of the toys in Caspar's toybox. I'm not sure if this late interest in toys is because she never had any, or just insecurity. For all that though, she knows exactly what our house rules are, and sticks to them. She is a bright girl! The big news for Lizzie is that tomorrow we are meeting up with her prospective parents. They have 2 children, which will suit her, as she loves peeps of all sizes, and they have a 2yr old lurcher, Sadie. As long as Lizzie can charm Sadie she should be in, but let's all keep our fingers and paws crossed! I'll take my camera along. (P.S. The Dad phoned me this morning for her collar size, so they must be thinking positively....)

Oh how exciting for the little lady - glad she is doing well and learning to play. Hopefully Sadie will fall for her and be her mentor!

Today was Lizzie's big day : will she go or no? The Ladies talk it over. Sadie shows off her "sit" You lead, I'll follow Caspar trying to lead Lizzie astray! Together, decision made. Her new family are lovely, and I'm sure will make her very happy. Sadie was a little bit reserved, but will soon come round when she gets used to having a full-time playmate who understands "lurcher speak" and play. When the decision was made Lizzie hopped up into the back of their car and settled down right away. It was Sadie who said "look how little space she's left me....." They are so similar at first glance, but so many little differences when you look. Sadie: pinkish nose, white whiskers, pale face, brown claws, Lizzie:black nose and whiskers, 5 o'clock shadow, big eye makeup, black claws, black guard hairs in coat and tail. But they both like rolling in unmentionable smells, and eating horse poo,etc etc....need I go on? Good luck darling little Lizzie, I hope you'll be 'forever' happy!
