I'm chuffed to bits for Toffee: it's wonderful when any dog finds their forever home, but's it's especially true for a puppy ;D But I'm also so sad for you Sioux: it's hard to let any foster go but it's your first foster and a pupster too, making it even harder Huge (((HUGS))) to you for giving him shelter and love when he needed it and for finding the strength to let him go today Be very happy in your new home Toffee ;D

Hi all, just to let you know that Toffee is here safe and sound, Boo keeping a conservative distance, but seems fairly OK so far!! He was fine in car on way home, only a little whimper at the start. Been tearing around the garden for an hour or so, had supper and is now collapsed in a heap!! BTW....Toffee soon to be changing names, I think.....how does Alfie sound? Thanks to Siouxie....must have been hard today. Will keep you updated on how he goes over the next few weeks. Attachments:

Well, that was a surprisingly easy first night!! No whining when in crate, up once for a wee at two, then woke him up at 7.00 for brekkie. All good so far!!

That's it Alfie. Lull them into a fall sense of security, where they fall deeply in love with you - before you turn into a juvenile delinquent.......

He's doing fine, Siouxi. Slept well again last night, 10 until 5.45, so a good long sleep....mind you, did have a two mile walk earlier and met a friends Deerhound....about four foot at the shoulder, but Alfie wasn't fazed!!
We're just getting to know when he's ready for crate....when he wakes up, is a bit dozey, then wakes up properly, plays nicely for a couple of hours, then get's comlpetely hyper, nipping, barking, generally going scatty, that's when he goes back in and zonks out for another 3 hours!! Him and Boo getting on OK....she's had to tell him off a couple of times, but she's such a softy, so he probably gets away with murder. He's retrieving his Kong well....will need to get in more supplies of peanut butter!! Brings it over to me when I call, will keep going for a good 5 or 6 retrieves before he gets fed up and wants to do something else.

Hmm - perhaps we should get Jenny to add that criteria to the adoption form.....
"do you have a preference for gender, age, size? Do you have an existing dog whose colour should tone in with your new dog?"
