Little Jessie was taken into holding kennels after being knocked by a car. The driver of the car took her to a nearby Pub and the Landlord took her in and phoned the holding kennels. She has served her seven days but won't be going anywhere for a while as she is approximately 7 weeks pregnant. Jessie has a lovely temperament. She has been heavily handled as she is a little hand shy and takes a while to trust that you are raising your hand to stroke her and not to hurt her. Her eyes are so sad. She is beautiful. Thanks to Jayne today for getting her out and Caroline for liasing with Jayne on the transport run and meeting me to hand-over. Both of these lovely ladies had already done a day's work. She has been here for about 3 hours now and had two small meals already. She is not food aggressive and waited her turn in the queue for her food bowl. She even let Esme nick her treat. She has decided to lay at the bottom of the stairs so that she can watch me on the computer and see anyone moving from room to room. Jess is booked in at the vets in the morning. I think she will be coming up to bed tonight. Only a littlun, approximately 22 inches at the shoulder.

I'm just so pleased we've got her, and that she's safe with you when the time comes for those puppies to arrive.
She was clearly scared when we were trying to get her from the dog warden's van today, but she just looked up at us with those big eyes. She's a very gentle soul.
Glad you're with us Jessie.....

She has been a good girl. On her last walk she didn't wee or poo, so I knew we might have to get up in the night. I heard her moving around her crate at 3 a.m. so came down. Poor mite has had constipation and had done the biggest roundest hardest poo And she has weed in the corner of her crate. Miss Elly, not to be outdone, had pood her bed So two changes and back to bed. She was as quiet as a mouse. Anothe big poo awaited me when I came down. Hopefully she will be more comfortable now. She is an absolute poppet. I was so tempted to take her up to bed in our room last night, but don't relish the though of a crate full of pups in the bedroom every night. Off to Anil this morning, where I am sure she will charm the pants off all she meets. She is still hugging the floor, but now with a waggy tail. She is a real foody, which is helping a lot.

Small litter thoughts here too. Yep, I last whelped a litter in 1981!!!!!!!!!!!! Could be interesting. Little Jess is only a baby herself, around 16 months old. She has had a checkup. Little Jess is 22 kilos, but quite thin. Can't be sure how many pups but she has around 8-10 days to go. She was a little star. I took Esme with us and they both put their heads over each other's necks

She's beautiful Poor little mite, she's just a baby herself. Sending loads of positive thoughts from us here, for an easy birth and not too many pups to run you ragged! x V
