Lenny was rehomed to a previous adopter who adopted an SLR dog a few year's back. Unfortunately the dynamics of an older dog and a youngster just didn't work, and Lenny has gone back to his foster mum Christine until he is re-homed. He was only gone for a couple of weeks and has just slotted back into the fold Lenny is super uber friendly with dogs and people alike, and has just discovered that the world around him is a fantastic place and he wants to explore it all and run and run and play and play. You get the picture. Poor Marley, the original SLR adopted dog was not up for the boisterous pup and it wasn't fair on him, so the Lovely Lenny is looking for that new forever home. I am sure Christine will update you all shortly. Here is the link to his original re-homing thread so that you can see some of the lovely posts made by Christine. mimsmum.proboards.com/thread/34293/678-lenny-year-applications-open

Such a shame - he is just so handsome and sweet I am sure the right home will be here before too long. Looks like he has some collie in the mix, quite similar to Zephyr, so will be very trainable, I think. I can't manage three otherwise I'd be in line for him.

Lenny is doing well. We've been focusing on training for his recall. It's already pretty good but if he sees another dog he goes deaf - a condition we're all aware of! It takes time and patience to improve recall and he's getting better. I've been involved in organising a dog behaviour workshop which has now finished so Lenny will be reporting back on his antics very soon. Everyone who meets Lenny falls in love with his smiley face and cheeky character and hopefully it won't be too long before someone comes along who will fall for his playful puppy character and sweet nature. Update to follow soon!

I met Lenny. He is lovely but very puppyish. Far too boisterous for my sweet hound or I might be applying. He would do well with another dog or dogs that are mature enough to check him when he goes too far and definitely needs an owner or owners dedicated to continuing training.

Lenny BlogLenny goes on an adventure!Well, have I been up to some stuff! The Human has been busy organising a Dog Behaviour Workshop so she hasn't had time to help me update my Blog, but that's over now so I can tell you about what I've been up to. TH has been training me on what she calls a long line. I wasn't sure what I had to do at first, but I soon got it... I can walk ahead of her but when she says "let's go" I have to stop what I'm doing and follow her ... easy, peasy! Sometimes I get distracted and she has to remind me but I can't help it. I'm curious and like other dogs so I want to go and see them, but TH says I have to be careful because other dogs may not want me to go up to them in the puppy-like way I do. I'm learning to approach more slowly and try not to stare! The best thing that's happened to me is that I got to meet lots of people from different countries and lots of dogs at the Workshop. My favourite was Laura from Italy. She kept asking if she could walk me and help with my training ... I loved her and she loved me. We're going to keep in touch on Facebook so she can keep up with my stories. I also met Brian Agnew who was running the Workshop and Jo who runs the Dog Trouble Centre. I love them too! Jo took me for a walk and showed me more of the "let's go| and best of all I got to play with her dogs. Thea was the best. She's only tiny but she loved playing with me and didn't mind when we tumbled over each other. TH said I was good because I didn't get over-excited and hurt her. Brian was fab too... he said if circumstances were different he would adopt me, but he lives in the USA so I couldn't go all that way with him! He said I was lovely, even though I got easily distracted when he was telling me what he wanted me to do. But he still said I had done well and all that was needed was to give me direction and be consistent and I would make someone very happy because I am such a happy cheeky monkey! Here I am with my special friend Laura "Hey Lenny, are you listening? Yes, Uncle Brian!"

Lucky Lenny, I am sure there are not many Houndies that get to have a personal training session with Brian

Lenny BlogI like snuggling! Now that I've been in The Human's pack for a few weeks I've discovered that I love snuggling with the other dogs. It took me a while to pluck up the courage to get on the sofa with them, and sometimes Alice would grrr at me, but TH stepped in and stopped her so I could try it out. Now I love snuggling and I'm happy to spend time relaxing with the other dogs. TH says it's good for me to relax and process what she's been teaching me. I've been learning a lot, and my specialities are walking nicely on the lead, sit, going to my place, and not trying to grab the other dogs' food or toys. TH did some videos of me when I met up with Duncan and Ellie and you can see how good I am about not taking Duncan's ball. I love playing with other dogs and TH lets me off the lead now. I'm good about coming when she calls, but I get a bit carried away when I see other dogs, so she's taking me to socialisation classes each week. This helps me get used to being with other dogs without getting too excited - I can even stay on the place while the other dogs walk by without breaking the place. I'll get TH to video me so you can see how clever I am. Here are some photos of me snuggling with my pack-mates, Daisy, Comet and Alice... Alice is the most snuggly of them all!

LENNY BLOGWANTED: Forever Home for Handsome Hound! The Human has said it would be a good idea if I posted an advert for a forever home so here it goes - TH has added some edits!: "Handsome, cool, year-old surfer dude pup, looking for his forever home. I walk well on the lead and do whatever my human asks me to do (TH: ?). I get on well with my doggie mates in my foster home but I'm cool with having my human(s) all to myself. being an only dog. My ideal home would be one where I can run and play outside, get proper raw bones, play with toys, learn tricks, sleep on the human's bed lie next to my human on the sofa and get lots of cuddles. TH says she thinks it would be good if she did her version of an advert for me - I've added some edits: "Lenny is a sweet-natured, cheeky little boy. He's just a year old ... and a super cool surfer dude still a bit ungainly - he hasn't quite got control of his ears! He walks well on the lead and is really good at following the pack when he's off the lead. He's an inquisitive pup and when he's on the lead he tends to get a bit distracted by things around him that he's curious about and has to be reminded to keep up! His recall is good and he likes other dogs. He's learning not to be rude and run up to other dogs and will come back when called. Lenny has the most adorable face with soft appealing eyes... and does everything he's asked! The ideal home would be one where he's able to show how quickly he learns and can show his lovely endearing character. He's an enthusiastic little pup and will show lots of love in return for a warm, secure and loving home. I guess TH's advert is OK, but I think mine is better. What do you think? TH said I should add a cute photo... how about this one of me crawling under the coffee table? ... TH just uploaded this video of me off the lead with the other dogs to show how I know to keep up and what "let's go" means:
