The lass is very welcome here if no more suitable foster home presents itself.

Whilst fully appreciating the difficulties posed by my lack of transport, a short-term emergency foster home is still available here if that helps.........
ETA: In case of emergency there are a couple of neighbours who would be happy to offer transport to the vet.

As this is now urgent I have agreed to take her back to Cornwall from the fun day if no one else steps up. It does mean a 300 mile journey for her though and twelve dogs in the van as there will be my seven and Donna and Marks four !!!!! Ideally if some one closer can have her it would be good but she needs out now from that kennel so we'll just have to squash up a bit if needed !!!!

It will be very interesting if we get stopped by the Police. Transit van full of lurchers pulling a caravan!

It will be very interesting if we get stopped by the Police. Transit van full of lurchers pulling a caravan! Probably best to avoid this area - a plethora of High Court notices appeared in the park a couple of days ago, banning travellers from Essex Council land! Don't worry though, there's a long list of specifically banned people, & I couldn't find your names on it.

Penny delivered the lass safely about half an hour ago, & as per the transport thread she's currently being addressed as 'Summer.'
Summer is absolutely gorgeous, (this from someone who has always favoured rough coated hounds ), & stands around 25/26" tts. She was initially nervous, but not at all frightened of either me or the girls, & after a quick exploration of the home-kennel she decided that the settee was obviously made for her.
More to follow later - we're all off out to introduce Summer to a few of the local 'niffs,

Just back from our last round the block comfort break walk of the day, during which there was a bit of excitement when Summer slipped her collar & proceeded to have a very brisk run around a grassy hillock at the end of our road. Happily she kept running up to me before shooting off again, until she was finally content to let me get hold of her & re-attach her collar, (more securely than previously! ). Summer pulls very strongly on the lead & has thus far proved to be very inquisitive, & also very affectionate, (really loves a fuss ). The camera really does lie in the photos on her thread, as she's actually very svelte.
All has been sweetness & light in the home-kennel, with a bit of polite bum-sniffing initially, & no altercations.
It looks as if our guest has chosen to spend the night on the settee rather than any of the dog beds, (or mine!), & is quite composed in her temporary surroundings.

Summer slept through the night with no disturbances & no accidents.
We headed out for the day's first walk at 5.15 a.m., & Summer proved again to be extremely lively on the lead - alternately pulling hard, changing direction, & leaping around like a Whirling Dervish. She is very strong, & there's obviously a great deal of lead training needing to be done.
Summer stood alongside me as I prepared breakfast, watching me keenly but not attempting to countersurf, neither did she try to steal from my girls' bowls.
This lass reminds me very much of Kerry's lovely Moss, who was an absolute delight to foster - with very similar looks & temperament, a wonderfully affectionate nature & a tail that finds it nigh impossible not to wag!
