Bear and his brother and sister have just arrived with SLR. They are a cross of two types of Lurcher. Saluki x Grey and Collie x Grey. They are currently in Hampshire but Belle has secured a home. Bear and Belle will be fostered in Hertfordshire until their rehomings. All pups have received their first vaxes, and been micro-chipped and wormed. We have strict re-homing criteria, we consult past vets and neighbours and will only re-home pups to Adopters who are home most of the time. That does not mean to someone who pops in lunchtimes. We do not re-home pups to full-time workers, or shift workers, and will do all checks before re-homing. Please do not contact us to try to persuade us otherwise. Of all the types of dogs, Lurchers suffer separation anxiety the most. This is one of the biggest reasons that dogs are coming into the Rescue. Bear can be re-homed before his second vaccination as long as his Adopter's own Vet has a compatible vaccine. Otherwise he will have his second vaccination in two weeks time. This is Bear.

All the pups have been well socialised, take a keen interest in whatever's going on are very happy and nicely confident, Bear is slightly more 'up-front' than the other two and weighed 6.0kg at 1st vaccination. He is totally adorable!
ETA: The make of vax is Canigen DHPPi and Lepto 2

OMG. OMG, OMG, OMG The 3 siblings must be some of the most beautiful bundles ever Bear is so lovely, but of course Belle is the most beautiful of all And, being white, I will be able to see her in the midst of the gang Even understanding the hard work ahead for the next few months, I cannot wait for Friday - the unconditional love of a Lurcher is worth much sacrifice. Love Margey xxx

I am in awe of the time, sheer commitment, self-belief and love that lebsturmer, (Sheila?) has invested in these lucky, lucky pups. To raise 3 puppies from 2 days of age is astonishing. And a thank you to the transportation Crew and foster families who have given those beautiful pups a chance of happy lives.

They do like to cuddle up together - this was in the car after they'd cried themselves out on the first leg of the transportation journey.

Well, after a couple of hours madness last night they were pretty pooped and got sleepy again at about 10pm, so I popped them back in their crate and they settled down to sleep. Belle always seems to get tired first, and Bear resists the urge to sleep but when Belle goes to sleep in the crate he happily goes and lies down with her. I thought they might wake up again seeing as 10pm is relatively early, but by 11.30 they were still dead to the world. Darcy slept in the living room with them, so we went up to bed but left all the doors open so we could hear them if they woke up. I expected to hear howling at 3am or something, but not a peep! They were so good, and eventually started crying at 6.30am. Very good considering they went to sleep pretty early, but it may be a one off because they were so tired from their long day yesterday. Fingers crossed we get that every night! So we had some poos and wees - they do try to get on their mats but a couple of times they've missed, but they are trying bless them! We had some weetabix and milk for breakfast and then had play time. Belle has a bit of runny tummy, probably from travelling yesterday, and she proceeded to tread in her runny poo and then run off so I had some fun cleaning that up! Then we had a rest for about 30 minutes and then they've been playing/pooing/weeing for about 2 hours and they're asleep again now. Phew! Finally I can get some work done Such sweeties though! More pics later!

They are amazingly well socialized. I have this image in my head of Margey with the new pup. I remember the day she met up with me to collect Rudi... and the months of mischief he created. But she never gave up.. Just quietly went round the bend and out of it.. Good luck puppy adopters. We have applications, but as usual we are ultra fussy. These are special babies.
