Lily was rehomed by us a couple of year's ago to a family with another small dog. The family contacted me last week to ask if Lily could come back into the Rescue as she had had a couple of spats with their smaller dog and they thought it was best to part the two dogs. Lily was only around 9 months old when she was rehomed. She has come back into foster with Philippa, and so far has been fine with all dogs that she has met, small and large, and with people and settled well with Zephyr. So much so that Philippa has now had her off lead and without her muzzle. It is still early days in her assessment. Only a little Lurcher, Lily is neutered, vaccinated and once assessed will be ready for her new home. I'll leave Philippa to fill you all in on the last few days with Lily.

She does look in great condition, what a shame to have her back in. I hope she continues to be ok with other dogs so she can be rehomed asap.

Little (although only in comparison to Zephyr) Lilly is very sweet but quite timid. She needs confidence building so I have been walking her where she is being exposed to lots of dog savvy people and well socialised dogs. It is working, as she is getting familiar with the location her tail is between her legs less and she is greeting other dogs nicely.
Yesterday she had game of chase with Harriet (lurcher GSD X) who can be a bit full on but she obviously recognised her as a similar speed and strength. She was also play bowing to Grace, an ex racing greyhound this morning - but in the middle of the woods we discouraged any boisterous play. So far she has shown no sign of any issue with other dogs other than timidity. She sticks very close when out and about but has shown no sign separation anxiety.
At home, she is very easy. Eats well (loves her food), completely house trained, sleeps through in her crate and likes a fuss. She is well trained - comes when called and walks well on the lead.
I think she would suit someone who is experienced with dogs, and preferably a home with a confident big doggy brother or sister.

Lilly met up with SLR Millie, SLR Hattie (was Bambi) and Dylan today. She had a lovely game of chase with them and is really beginning to come out of her shell. Her body language is much more confident and more relaxed. I will try and get some video of her - she is quite quick.

All sounds good Philippa, I'm sure you and big foster brother Zephyr are going to give Lily lots of confidence.

She'll have lots of lovely walks and meet lots of friendly dogs with Philippa. Looking forward to meeting her on Sunday at Bramshil and seeing how she gets on with my pack!

Sometimes certain hounds just don't "gel" together in a pack. I'm sure with the right companions Lily will do just fine.

Lilly had a day trip to the seaside today at Lepe Country Park. We joined Freddie (the lab), Charlie (the sprocker), Cookie (the brown spitz), Archie (the whippet), Jamie (the black/grey spitz), Tia (the GSD) and Honey (the pom) and, my oh my, did she enjoy it. The 'timid' little girl was sniffing, trying to get Charlie to play, coming back to me and barking with excitement. She had so much fun - but thought going in the sea was a bit unwise (it was quite rough). We then went to Beaulieu and had a bit of lunch outside in the sun.
What a good girl she is. Comes back when called. Stops playing (trying to play with dog who isn't so interested) when told. Waited nicely by my side when we had lunch. Settled in with the pack immediately with no signs of stress. Happily travelled an hour and a quarter each way in the car. Now fast asleep after a tiring but exciting day where she demonstrated exemplary behaviour.
I have some video/pics - but I haven't had a chance to upload them yet - and they may be of questionable quality. I will try and put them on tomorrow.

Sounds like an ideal dog's-day Philippa! And just great for getting Lily to socialise with just about every size and shape of hound possible

It is so great to read that Lily is coming out of her shell and enjoying herself. What a difference from the shy little thing we met at Manor Farm. Well done Philippa. She sounds absolutely lovely. xx

Sounds like you and Zephyr are doing a great job (as usual) of fostering the lovely Lily and getting her ready for her new life.
