A lady visited our Stand on Sunday and has had a 15 week old pup bitch dumped outside her office. She has taken it in temporarily as her mum also helps with Rescue work, but it is too young to be left long hours. SHE IS CAT FRIENDLY. Currently in Surrey. She will be in shortly..

Gorgeous pup. And so so tiny. Whippet X with not much more growing room. Only ickle hence Kate and Teresa naming her "Ickle Pickle". A name change may be happening as the boys want to name her, but she is in and on her way home to Cambridgeshire. I am sure photos will follow. Here are Teresa and Kate handing her over at South Mimms this morning.

Hello everyone We arrived home with Pickles, now known as NOVA at lunchtime. We choose Nova because she is a 'small but furious bundle of exploding energy'. She traveled very well, no sickness no trembling. We introduced her to Falco (our 1 year old greyhound/collie cross) in the garden. They played for the next hour- wild, fast and noisy. She may be small but she is not timid! I do have some video of their whirlwind chase and will post it when I can figure out how to get it off my phone. She played with Falco for the next couple of hours, boys didn't get a look in!She had a 10min nap before she was up and 'at em' again. She has finally conked out at the time of writing this, but has one eye open (in case anything interesting happens). She has had 2 small meals, she likes her food and is always on the lookout for more., following the children around and hoovering up crumbs. All wees and poops in the garden except for the beginning of one wee after a very long indoor play with falco, caught her in time and she finished it outside. First impressions of Nova: - Very (very) confident with our dog and stands her ground, but knows her place. - Independent, she has not initiated human contact other than to see if we have food - Doesn't shy away from strokes/cuddles, isn't nervous of children or adults, lets the 18mth old approach and cuddle with no apprehension. - Doesn't 'mouth' or 'bite' hands at all, which seems unusual to me most puppies are still nippy at that age. - loves toys - loves food - she is teeny weeny, Falco was her height but twice as broad in leg and neck at just 10 weeks old. The more I look at her the more I see terrier in there somewhere. What do you all think? Hopefully Nova and Falco will settle down in the next few days and we will get to know her a bit better. Vets tomorrow for vaccinations. She also has some very rough/sore skin on the back of her hind legs, in her armpits and at the base of her tail. Maybe she was carrying a heavy flea load when she was dumped. I will ask the vet to take a look. And it was nice to meet you Jenny! CLICK ON THE PHOTOS TO ENLARGE THEM...

Yep, when she trotted across the car park with your son I could see the Jack Russel strut. I would hazard a guess that she is Jack Russel put to whippet and then that put to whippet again. She is tiny. But she is so gentle with people and just loved being talked to, cocking her head to one side. I can see her being a lap dog and loving a one to one with her humans. I think she is very well socialized with other dogs and doesn't know she is tiny. A real poppet though.

This little lady is a GEM! I think she will make somebody very very happy. Day 2: She slept in the crate with a hot water bottle (wasn't sure if she would be clean overnight). She woke up twice and whined for a 10mins or so then went back to sleep. She was up at 5.30am as I take falco out running with me, she did her business outside and i left her playing with my son. She has figured out that we have a catflap that she can fit through and uses it at her leisure to do her business outside. no accidents at all, she knows what shes doing in that department. Lots of love from her today, if there is a lap, she likes to sleep in it. followed us around the house and gave lots of kisses. She loves playing with Falco and Jenny is right she has NO IDEA she is little!! She has a terriers talk and likes to use her voice when she is chasing falco around. She is steady and calm (save for her tornado noisy outbursts with falco) and she doesn't chew stuff. I think she will be a very loyal companion, she deserves to be center stage!
